negotiate the power line issue out of the price that macom wants. but sounds like district is simply not interested:
Please feel free to partake in boxed wine while perusing my short and wholly inadequate tribute to Larry:
macom: Buy my land! I'm practically giving it to you!
HC: Kiss my a$$. I must win my valiant BB battle at all costs. I have face to save!
JC: stop speculating! stop speculating! I'm getting confused!

There will need to be SOME tweaking to the boundaries. Now Howies subdivision of Longwood (North end next to Brookdale) would have to go back to WVHS Ah ha. now we know the 'ulterior motive' spoken about earlier. HC shouldn't care if his 'hood goes to WV. It is a perfectly fine school. Sheesh - not this again! If this is his motive for not considering or negotiating a macom deal then is there some way we can boot him without a pension??? The SB has admitted that boundaries are fluid and can change at any time as our student population changes as well. Three board seats are up for election this year; four others will be up again in 2009. Who knows what tweaks will be necessary due to population fluctuations; who knows how new or old political agendas will come into play with the boundaries in the future. That being said, I do not give much weight to the present boundaries made on land we don't yet have no matter where it is located.

Was macom involved in the development of WE? I seem to remember that it was. If so, they were the ones to dis WV to begin with. And also, if so, it seems to have turned around and bit them in the a$$. Macom did White Eagle, but those were different times...1987+, during the boom of real estate. In this market, I believe most builders would try to pull the same tricks as Macom concerning their property in this situation. Also, his statement about the 600K/acre was right on cue when considering that builders, developers, and realtors will tote and hype real estate values for their own personal gain.

Wait. If the powerlines have to be moved that means he doesn't own the land the power lines are on. Kinda like that big space that separates Tallgrass in two. Would we have to buy that land and from whom?

Look at yahoo maps. They are smack dab in the middle of the field.
I think this land is south of Wolf Crossing, east of Normantown, west of 248th and north of 103rd. It is the only piece over there with powerlines running through it.

checked it out. Yes the lines are held up by 3 'towers' on the property. Not sure they would have to be moved, though. Build school on one side of the towers (seems to be a bit more room south of the towers) and the playing fields, etc. on the other side.

threre appears to be a small neighborhood jutting up into the southern most part of the propery. Not sure if that southernmost portion is included in the offer. Also a farm? and a house jutting in from the east.

bob and CRH, when coming up with the plans, don't forget to allocate space for the helicopter pad, so that students can fly from Ashwood Park High to the disconnected postage-stamp-of-land "Desolation Campus" that we own on BB. Seriously, what will happen to this land under plan "AshHole".

Arch is right...if Lehman is serious about selling this land, he should have feasibility studies conducted. In fact, he should have done it a long time ago.

also remember per the comdemnation docs on the 25 acres... they would have to sell them back to BB for the price paid minus atty fees if they don't build on it

looking at the map it doesn't seem as if anything would have to built under the lines or that they would have to be moved.
