Yes the Naperville Sun has a poll in todays paper on the site - however don't expect much insight out of the poll - here is the extent of the question: Should Indian Prairie School District 204 reconsider the site of its Metea Valley High School? 1. Yes. 2. No. here is the early result after I voted NO. POLL RESULTS :: Should Indian Prairie School District 204 reconsider the site of its Metea Valley High School? 1. Yes. 42% 12 votes 2. No. 57% 16 votes Total Votes: 28 you can vote on-line - here is link: www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/news/index.html#VOTE

Sure seems like an overly broad question/poll.
My interpretation of the question - is should the new HS be put somewhere else other than BB.
Everyone here should know my feelings on BB ;D
it's 50/50 now with 38 votes

Tell me what numbers you want doc, I'll script 'em up ;-) based on the sudden and almost immediate turnaround, my guess is gaming could be involved - throw a couple thou in the No box - LOL!

Ya think? Maybe you should add some numbers for the Aurora portion of 204. They didn't ask us, and they wonder why I cancelled.

Maybe this e-mail will shed some light on why the poll is so skewed. This got sent to a subcontractor friend of mine who forwarded it to me. Needless to say, we do not agree on this issue. The new site (non)option is a "hot topic" within the builder community. Take a look at the lower e-mail. I wonder what the "packet of quality reasons why this proposal makes sense" contains? It must be a very short document. -------------- Forwarded Message: -------------- S ubject: FW: vote....urgent Date: Wed, 24 Jan 2007 21:41:45 +0000 I try to meddle in local politics too much, but the Naperville Sun is conducting a poll on whether or not the district 204 school board should reopen discussions on where the new high school should be located. If you have a minute, click on and vote for yes to reopen the discussion. There are some pretty valid points for why the current way it's being done may not be the best. See link below. You can go to the Naperville sun website and vote. As of this letter 67% of the people responding said they should change the site. I also understand that a packet of quality reasons why this proposal makes sense has been sent to Springfield for consideration as they try to take the land through the legislature. Please take a minute to visit this website and cast your vote. It cant hurt. link www.napersun.com/

I got 'em - emails deleted. Let's keep the emails out of it.
To summarize, it was a wide distribution list of builders, including our old friend, tombart.com.

Done, and you're absolutely right - I should have been more careful instead of just "copying & pasting". I think it is totally inappropriate that you posted these people's email addresses without their consent. Please remove them immediately.

I just checked the online poll and it shows:
Yes (reconsider the site) 1697 votes (63%) No 988 votes (36%)
Nice try, but there are not 1697 builders in this area. It seems clear there are plenty of people who think BB should be reconsidered!!! When you really step back and think about it, it's shocking that they wouldn't consider something else at this point.
How long will we wait and what will we pay for BB???

It cant hurt. link www.napersun.com/While I agree e-mails don't belong here, I also think that this needs to see the light of day as an issue. Who knows how far something like this has gone in skewing the vote with many votes now likely coming from outside of 204 -- as e-mails make their way in chains. This would be like starting a chain e-mail telling people to vote No ( and tell them there are plenty of good reasons to do so but this just not being attached ) or they will have bad luck, send it to 10 people in 30 minutes and you will have good luck and all the rest of the spam one receives - and eventually it is everywhere. Lousy. All of that and one has to figure this was only in the Naperville Sun - so without being in the Beacon also, a large % of our 204 population was left out.
