Just read the article and study the map on Sunday. Perhaps many of your questions will be answered. If we all really want this school, we need to be fair and look at a real possibility. P.S. I think the SB has done their fairshare of "marketing". 2 major questions: 1/ do you believe with all the issues on that property that it could be ready to build on sooner than September ( also July a potential but we'll go with the later date) - if not - ( and I do not) why would we change ? 2/ Are you ready to pay $340K per acre that he is asking, and also purchase more acreage that we need - also in that deal ? Also who pays for all the issues that piece of property has ? All I keep hearing about is fical responsibility - yet we should spend an amount known to be above what we have offered on BB. Yes, I know that amount could change, but it could also come back as exactly what we bid. So yes we need to be fair, and if that land was even close to the money invested so far ( 25 acres ) and what is bid, ( it is much higher) and fit our needs size wise and facility wise, I would be far more open to it. What did he pay for the land ? If this was truly the benefactorial gesture he is making it out to be , the profit would be in line with that -- with the current housing market it is going to quite a while before he turns all of that land over -- as a business man I understand his efforts, as the knight on the white horse for the school district - I feel completely different.

His $340/acre for 90 acres is $30,600,000 80 acres is $27,200,000
That $30,600,000 divided by 55 acres that we need to settle with BB would work out to be $556K/acre fro BB
Under 80 acres $494K/acre For BB
If we wind up paying $300k an acre for BB 55 acres that is $15.125 mil.
Macom would have to come down to $168k/acre to match for this
Even if we pay BB top$ offer it is a scratch with Macom's offer

The facts are, as of yet, we do not have a place to build. The price is also not craved in stone. Can we at least give this a chance before we find so many reasons to dismiss it. As far as the earlier comment about the timing of this, I for one, feel the same can be said about the article in the Sun yesterday. Do we think Macom just decided to print the piece on Sunday, AFTER reading yesterday's paper? I think not. Perhaps the piece yesterday is because of what they were told was going in on Sunday...

Is this going to be an Ad or an article?
Fiscally, he has to come down 50% even to be in the ballpark.

Just so you all are aware, the SB has already paid the architectural firm to study Macom's site and place the exact building on their propoded parcel.

It is very plain to see that the school will not open for the 2009 school year.
Why hasn't the SB come out and say what they are going to do? What is their plan? Is their plan just to hope and pray that everything will come out ok?
If the school has not broke ground yet, there is no way it will open in 2009. The only way is to build a smaller school.
You can throw more $ at the contractor to try and get it built faster, but concrete still takes a certain amount of time to dry. Can't rush that.

We have heard zip regarding these plans as well from the current SB. Those are my questions to the current and incoming members,.,,,,,if we are so overcrowded today.....what are your immediate plans to alleviate the overcrowding now???

I think it went up pretty fast, and I think they phased in the building, since they, too started only with freshman & sophomores.
