There was a story out yesterday said that he was going to build on it.
Hopefully he has all the facts and figures for moving the power lines, the soil samples, the price to get the family who can live there forever out , the right to the land he sold to the Park District,

All I'm saying is look fo a story outlining their side of the story.
Macom meet with the residents of Ashwood this week to discuss the issue again and the upcoming story.
He is just saying that he will build on it to force the issue.

Did he say when he is going to start building? The housing market is terrible. Did you see the quote by the CEO of DR Horton about new housing sales in 2007? www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-market8mar08,0,2452425.story?coll=la-home-business Now there is a honest CEO. ;D

I am not sure what issue he is going to try and force - the BB land will come either thru the quick take re hearing on 3/22 or in the case hearing in September....whether or not Paul Lehman gets any more press. Maybe I am miscalculating , and anything is possible, but I did not see any district wide groundswell of support the last time he went public

The issue of public fear. OMG, this land is going away!!!!!! QUICK take the bad deal!!!! He should also be concerned about his perception by the community also -- he has houses to sell. His is likely not even the next best property in line if something drastic happened and they have to change.

How can they say the power lines don't have to be moved when they don't know where the school could be placed?
If not, the kids get to go to school next to the big power lines.
If they live at 248 and Wolf Crossing and the HS can be built there, isn;t that near the big power line.
All that area is due to be zoned commercial BTW. So I guess the people who complained about losing commercial property taxes at BB will continue to use that same argument here.

It's called Marketing. It doesn't have to be accurate, it just has to obtain objectives (whatever they may be).

My interpretation (as it was when this Macom thing first came out in the press): Macom must be in bed with one or more of the non-incumbants running for SB and/or CFO/CRAFT (who likely have one or more people running for SB). The timing of this ad, should it come out, once again is very interesting. To me, there was no clear reason for the timing of the first Macom press junket, nor would there be for this second one, other than to be related to the SB election. Although, Macom, may be acting out of desperation, with the housing market as it is - if they can make about as much $ by simplying negotiating a land deal as they would by building houses (which would take a lot longer time) on the land, I guess I can't blame them for trying. But, publicly negotiating this & trying to make the SB look bad is really unprofessional.

Just read the article and study the map on Sunday. Perhaps many of your questions will be answered. If we all really want this school, we need to be fair and look at a real possibility. P.S. I think the SB has done their fairshare of "marketing".

Why doesn't Macom just say: "and, they're in their 80's - how much longer can they live, any way?" Note: this is meant to be satire, based on the way that Macom has been operating. I ask this because they must think that the fact that these people are in their 80's is relevant, otherwise they would not publish that fact.
