I guess then it isn't closed. Or it has yet to be updated. Government agencies are not known for their speed of updating info.

Does anyone think the SD's enrollment projections still stand with the housing market in a downturn? Should projections be recalculated based on vacancy rates? There are a lot of vacant houses for sale in my neighborhood and if the news is any indication, foreclosures are going to rise.

Bob-why do you always have to put your little spin on what people are saying. What I said was that why protect Preit? BB has an agreement with them to buy the land. What good would protesting do when BB has closed on their agreement?

What good would protesting do when BB has closed on their agreement? What spin? You stated here: Protest Preit for what? BB has already gotten their money from their settlement with Preit. You stated that BB has already received their money. How do you know that? The county says it didn't go through yet so how did you get this infomation. BC, if you are right then what is the price?

No wait, I get it! Preit put up a sign for the future developement of the property pending the sale of the land just like the SD did with the high school sign??

I think it is somewhat of a neighborhood by neighborhood thing also - ours has no vacant houses and sales are still less than 30 days with new people moving in...across the street and 2 houses down, a house just turned over and netted up 3 school age kids..... I still think best to go with historical - as the last rate decrease just showed - unsure what feds will do with rates. Also if increase in foreclosures - people still need to live somewhere....might see movement from homes to apartments and an increase in children there, where they have forecasted a very low rate of children per unit. Still too early in this cycle to understand all the impacts...

FWIW - I DO support the need for the 3rd HS..........however..... I Prefer no QT...never cared for BB from day 1, but if that is the ONLY spot left...(which it is not). I would support the school there. Macom also never looked good...even now Just growing corn on the St James AME site.

Actually the vote wouldn't be chancing QT. I think QT died a slow death last week in the Senate. The choice would be continuing ahead with the lawsuit and suffering through possible months of legal delays i.e. legal costs OR packing it up and trying to find a different location/option.
Personally, I never liked BB location but am not sure what else is really out there. There's Macom's property at 248, St.J property (up north with an unwilling seller), quarry property (good enough for Plainfield's 4th HS but Bolingbrook didn't want to sell to 204) and that's it. Obvously none of them are a great solution but at this point it may be time for the SD to throw in the towel on BB. IMHO I don't think that the SD will ever get the BB property at a cost they can afford. Waiting through the trial will simply bring astronomical legal costs as well as more delays. 2009 doesn't look like even a remote possibility.
