Doesn't Steck go to Granger , doesn't McCarty?? That pulls kids living across the street from Waubonsie to a northern high school site?? If you leave them at WV then do you send Cowlishaw, Owen even farther north to fill that high school??

How about two separate 2000 student high schools. It will work out better in the long run.

IMO many people voted on the referendum based on the site, boundaries etc and then I think many people elected the three incumbents to see the boundaries, site through. Read the posts right here. The SB is in a very tricky predicament. I think they will find the money in the budget and move forward...we could break ground next week.

Blankcheck...you question everything, and every $ (and good for you). I think there are many people who don't care/are sick of no progress/ just want the thing to be built etc.

I am not comfortable with that. From the talk before, the delay was already costing us and now this? I guess we will have to wait and see.

The $$ that they have already spent on pre-planning - can that be retrofitted to fit just any property? or will they have to go back to the drawing board on all of the work that has been done already?

Same type of thing happens If WVHS ends up being the furthest north school - by a good deal if w choose MACOM - all ES north of 75th street will not fit into WVHS -- that is going to move other areas south -- from furthest north to furthest south: if disregard East to West which we shouldn't: 1/ Brookdale Longwood Brooks Young Steck Watts Coulishaw 2/ McCarty Owen Georgetown Gombert White Eagle Welch Clow 3/ Springbrook Fry Patterson Peterson Kendall Builta Graham If we do it this way then you take walkers from mcCarty and georgtown and move them out of WVHS. I think we've been through there is 'no easy cut' at this before.

I do think the SB could make a valid argument for weighing the increase in the land costs, (which yes are high, but still represent about a 13% increase) to starting over at some other site and guaranteeing more delays. I hope that's what the SB will consider as they move forward...all the costs of abandoning BB and the great unknown that represents too.

Which is exactly how we and the SB came to BB, Dr W. So if we can find the money $$$, it's time to move forward.

I'd like to see the total cost of this, but haivng at least a few $M set aside for contingency, the SB may "only" (not trying to trivialize this amount, but in the grand scheme of things - it may be worth it to spend this now so that we can proceed now) need to come up with an extra $6M-8M.

I am guessing that is a part of what they are reviewing right now-- it is not cost free to walk away to another property -- also no guarantee other unforeseen issues will not arise there also. All factors have to be included in the decision.
