Maybe I haven't thought all the way through this but I think that if the ST. John's site were used it would make sense to do north/south boundaries ex: north of 75th WVHS, 75th-95th NVHS, and south of 95th MVHS. If Macom were used, north of 75th WVHS, south of 75th and west of 59 - MVHS, south of 75th and east of 59 - NVHS. Again, I haven't completely thought through this number-wise but it would make sense geographically. Do you mean for St. John's: N of 75th at MVHS, 75th to 95th WVHS and S. of 95th NVHS? For Macom - makes sense to me but would need tweaking - everything N of 75th might fit at WV if they keep their frosh center, not quite though and since WV is south of 75th it would pull walkers away from WV.

I make the same trips to Hill and WVHS for before/after school things, did one this morning, will do one tomorrow and had to do one tuesday. Still, I don't look at the drive and grumble about it.. it's just a drive and I'm en route to my kid's school. As I explained, it doesn't matter to me because the majority of the time they just walk 20 steps from the front door to the corner. Send them down to NV, keep them going to WVHS, or send them to wherever else. I don't really care and I don't let the trips outside the normal bussing schedule pull me down or ruin my day. This is my own personal feeling about it, since Dr. Who asked what I thought... I'm not trying to say that none of it should matter to anyone else in the District. We all pick and choose what matters to ourselves and our families. This was just my personal perspective on it. Arch, I know of other people who feel the same as you. I know I have had a hard time with driving a high school kid to WV for a meeting starting at 6:45am and then getting a middle school kid to Granger for something starting at 6:50am, multiple mornings per week. Every minute counts for me! Then home to get the younger kids off to Brooks and me off to work... Multiply this sort of thing by the families of a whole lot of kids and I think it's still best to minimize travel for the district as a whole (some neighborhoods will come out better than others regardless, and with St. John's my drive would be a breeze!).

Also would take someone across the street from NV and send them to WV when they can walk - ( the 95th street boundary you have) - fwiw - after going through this a number of times I actually found the E/W vs N/S work a little better - but issues there also would be easier if the district was a perfect rectangle - but it ain't
