It strikes me that in 5 hours, we have created 5 pages of dialog, most of it about the Macom property. Yet in 5 days, no one from the SD has taken 5 minutes to call them and see what agreement could be reached. I'm just throwing this out there: I thought there was some sort of rule/guideline that two or more board members could not discuss board business unless they deemed it an official meeting. Is it then possible that while each board member has been thoroughly examining/contemplating options individually , that they had to wait until last night to officially assign 'who is to do what' as far as information gathering. I would imagine that the board would appear awfully silly if two different board members had contacted Paul Lehman not knowing that the other one had just called. I would guess that they discussed the school district's options last night and now must gather current data to update these options and help detetmine which way to proceed. Maybe that is why the meeting was relatively short. They met to discuss this for the first time since the verdict, figured out who would gather what info, and they will reconvene.

Gatordog. Good argument for BB...still not there yet....someone will always have to drive far to get to a HS regardless. and yes I am fully aware that boundaries will have to change of there is a site change. I thought Option 6 or variation of it would work well for St. Johns.
I look at it as each HS gets 2 MS with the one keeping the Freshman Center getting 3

Movingforward, Good point. I thought of that as well. It would be ridiculous for the SB not to at least have a conversation with Lehman about the Macom property. It could be for the very reason you stated.

Gatordog. Good argument for BB...still not there yet....someone will always have to drive far to get to a HS regardless. And if the drive-far-to-HS communities are well served by local ES's and MS's then they are getting an overall good deal on school sites IMHO. This leads to a question (relevant to MVHS site....and future MS boundaries), are there any subdivisions that dont have 2 out of 3: nearby ES, nearby MS, or nearby HS? I will tell you the one I know of: Butterfield in extreme NW corner of 204. They have zero of the three. Anybody know of other areas? A strong point of 204 is "neighborhood schools" for the most part.

BB would be about 2.8 Watts - has a neighborhood ES but due to our location bordering Naperville Central boundaries on the east and Naperville north for the subdivisions north of Aurora ave all the way to Ogden -- we are cut off from our MS - likely have one of the longest commutes for that crossing Ogden ave and railroad tracks. Also NV almost a mile closer than WV which is our HS. A HS on MACOM would be even further. from my house to WV 5.37 miles Hill 3.98 miles Watts 0.81 miles NV 4.53 miles BB 2.8 miles MACOM 6.27 miles

Maybe, we can offset the cost by building a gingerbread type school. We can use the little brach peppermints as the brick, caramels for adhesive... Now we're on to something.

Which is the area I am in...Hence my stubborn stance of which we go by an ES to go to another..... I feel you pain. Your area is no doubt underserved by school sites. I move that your area gets first choice on MS assignment!! If I can try to make the glass "half full"...the northern part of Eola and new Ferry road makes traffic pretty good compared to other areas on 204!

Which earned BB "fairness points" on my opinion on the BB site!

Circus peanuts could be used for ......... The gymnasium floor of course. Pool deck (although they would stick to wet feet)
