The board met again last night to discuss the issues surrounding Metea Valley High School. We had detailed discussions regarding four sites for Metea Valley, each of which is potentially viable given the budget limitations that the board committed to again on October 1, 2007. The administration has been directed to pursue detailed negotiations with all four land owners and to report the results of those negotiations to the board later this week. We are scheduling two further special meetings -- one for Thursday evening and one for Saturday morning -- in order to provide us with both flexibility and the opportunity to continue our discussion and analysis with still more information. The notices for those meetings will be posted shortly and include an agenda similar to that for the last two special meetings, which means we will not be taking action on the issue at either meeting. Macom, BB, St Johns and who? Calvary? What 'negotiations' would be happening with BB?

Macom, BB, St Johns and who? Calvary? What negotiations would be happening with BB? The Admin to BB: We got three other owners negotiating to sell at a possibly cheaper price. Care to sell at a lower price?

Macom, BB, St Johns and who? Calvary? What 'negotiations' would be happening with BB? Didn't M2 make a comment about purchasing less land at BB, hence the Calvary property consideration? Can you just purchase less after suing for X amount of acres? or do you have to begin negotiating again to purchase less? Don't know but would think since the suit was for 55 acres that were tied up for years, the SB would not be able to just buy 40 and move acreage to Calvary. That would be up to BB who, in turn, would need to find a buyer, IMHO before agreeing to that. Or, the SB would need to negotiate with another buyer. Maybe, don't know. Just speculation. I would think this is not as easy as we make it sound. The one thing I don't think is that BB will negotiate a lower price on the 55. I bet they wanted more than 518K an acre and are disappointed they got the low estimate out of all their appraisals. Just my guessing.

The way I look at it, they have the sites they know who to talk to.. they'll work it out and inform us of the decision.
