In the cases where scheduling or space limitations are a problem, then they couldn't share and to require them to wouldn't be right. But in cases where the space could be shared without such limitations, then maybe there is a cost savings. I would think that both situations would exist and they would have to study that. Build duplicate facilities where there isn't room and share those where there is room. I am guessing most -- especially all practice fields would have to be built -- the main stadium could be studied - but let's not short change anyone either -- I dont want kids practicing at all hours because fields arent available - let's keep it a level playing field ( pun intended ) Agreed - but I do think some of the baseball/softball/soccer fields at Frontier could be used and there may be instances where other areas could be shared without shortchanging anyone.

Those are PD parks and not D204 parks, right? Would PD's activities have first priority on their use?

Just by looking at the map, you have the area next to Wagner which goes to Peterson. Most of Patterson and Kendall would be walkers. Just eyeballing it, Graham would have a chunk that could walk to Wagner. Patterson is clearly closer to NVHS and some are walkers to NVHS, so I don't think Patterson is affected at all. Regarding Kendall and the area next to Wagner, if it made sense for them to now walk to the Wagner site, then maybe someone from farther away (like Watts) could attend NVHS instead of MVHS in their place. Watts / Cowlishaw / Owen could go to NVHS instead of MVHS - so as not to go past a school - but for the distance we are talking - that would be a minor concern at best

Even if you had to walk literally through Metea to get to Neuqua, you're still a walker to Neuqua and I would see no need to reassign you if it caused other issues. I lot of people are being shuffled around in any scenario and if your biggest problem is now you have to walk by one school to walk the same distance to your existing school, it's hard to feel that's a hardship

With regard to amenities, please read my previous post - what I said is there may be instances where space could be shared and instances where maybe space could not be shared and that would have to be studied. I think what you fail to understand regarding the bridge, etc., is that some people just wanted to go to the school nearest to them (that their kids could walk to) rather than be bused farther away, so yes you are very wrong - and your accusations get very tiring. As for the class warfare, I have no idea why you chose to start that. You comments "and nobody will have to go to Waubonsie" sound like it is some sort of punishment to go to WVHS and I find that very sad. It is only logical to wonder if you will only be satisfied if you get out of WVHS and someone who doesn't currently attend there will be assigned there. I hope that's not true. I have always felt that that mentality drove some of the decisions regarding the location for the new school and if it did - that's just plain wrong. I would expect you to accuse me of wanting to "get out of WVHS", you are after all the one who once said to someone that the only reason they supported BB was so their child would not be "stuck" at WV. 1. I always wanted my child at WV and that has not changed. If you can find anywhere that I have posted that says otherwise, show it to me. 2. You are the one who has accused me of starting class warfare. I am ONLY addressing the image problems WV has suffered in the past and believe that a Wagner Farm site will make it worse. I ALSO said that is not a reason to walk away from a willing seller (if we have one) on a site we can afford to build MV, amenities equal to WV and NV. 3. As far as walking to their HS, yes Gombert is under 1.5 miles and can walk to WV but because of the roads we have to cross, we are bused. Maybe we should contact Aurora to see if they will build us a bridge. ETA: Lacy, if in the end, the district buys land at Wagner Farms, I support it. Would you support the district if they purchased land north such as AME? You never answered that question.

OK, Lacy, gatormom - back to your corners please. If we could keep this about the 3rd high school site and not make accusations of personal motivations that would be good.

Agreed - but I do think some of the baseball/softball/soccer fields at Frontier could be used and there may be instances where other areas could be shared without shortchanging anyone. Those are PD parks and not D204 parks, right? Would PD's activities have first priority on their use? I use to coach soccer at May Watts and even though PD activities had priority, we had to share the park space with cross country teams, lacrosse, YMCA football, YMCA soccer, baseball and softball. It got very crowded there. I would say on Saturdays in the fall and spring during soccer season, Frontier Park probably couldn't be used by the schools. Maybe during the week, but the school would have to compete with travel soccer. The baseball field maybe, but probably not the soccer fields. Any other time of year, I have no idea how many PD activities happen there.

So fluffing off facilities here in 'hopes' that they 'might' be able to use the fields probably isn't a good idea because even that could turn out to be flat out wrong. I agree.

ED - I also questioned the site access limitations in the site selection report. I think you're right on at least the S entrance. I understood the entire site to be too big. Can we buy it all? And then save money by sharing NV's stadium - do people have a problem with that? Boundaries would have to shift I think because you are putting the school on the other side of NV. I wasn't sure what you meant by "on the other side of NV". Isn't BB on the "other side" too? I can't see why boundaries would need to change at all. And I would be fine sharing facilities with NV. In addition, Frontier park is there - maybe those facilities (baseball, soccer fields) could be used as well. Regarding access, why couldn't there also be access from 103rd? My only question would be how quickly could they get this up and going. There is an existing home and business there. I meant "other side" as in the new HS would no longer be inbetween WV and NV. I've contended that if you put the school either N of WV or S of NV you would cause 2 sets of moves. Schools move to fill MV, then more schools move to backfill. Wagner is S of NV. Why make LW, Watts, COW and Owen drive past NV to go to MV at Wagner? Same with KEN/GRA/BUI going to the 2nd cosest HS instead of MV at Wagner? Looks like it's been covered already but that was my point.

MVHS at this location is south of NVHS by about 1000 feet. We can probably make some exceptions for that sake of minimizing the changes
If you walked to NVHS from the south, you can still walk. I don't shed any tears for anyone with all of this in their backyard.
The fact is that a new HS at Wagner poses only 1 boundary change at the grade school level. But I'll be the first to admit that one boundary change is fairly charged.
Anywhere else (Boilingbrook, St John's, Ferry) are certainly going to be HUGELY MORE DISRUPTIVE. Put it on one of those sites and there will by necessity be a lot of changes.

I agree MO3 that double moves should be minimized.
I suggested MW, COW OWEN and LW move to NV.
In the double moves suggested here , at least, OW, COW, WATTS move to a closer school. It's a move that shortens their travel times.
The same can be said for the bolingbrook site.
The northern sites require double moves that increase the overall distance traveled for many schools.

If we build I Wagner, I think we should consider the folllowing possibilities.
Consider placing a smaller high school at Wagner and share some facilities with NV.
Consider sharing the freshman center with NV.
Convert WV Gold to a small HS and share facilities with WV. Now all schools have similar facilities. They all share.

Sorry. My idea would require building a new middle school as well as converting one freshman center and building a small high school.
