The School district is required by contract to sell the 25 acres back at the price they paid for it if they do not build a school on it.

No, they have to offer it back to BB for what they paid for it...BB is not required to take it back. And per the BB court filings they have indicated they do not want it back. I can send you a copy of the filings if you wish...just pm me with an email address.

I am referring to the '05 purchase contract, I'll PM you and address for the filings. I'd like to see if they had that part overridden.

I'm just curious having just noticed/paid attention to it. Looking on google maps satellite view, there is a home on the western edge of AME, along Eola. It seems to be a large ranch with a side pull-off on the driveway, brown roof. There are multiple sidewalks in the front.
Is that home on the AME land? If so, who lives there/what is it used for?

Nowhere did it say that BB has to take it back. which would be even worse, meaning we couldn't recover any of the value of those 25 acres, so the whole thing would be a loss if we walk away from BB.

Cough it up, buy it, plop the school there and apologize to the tax payers for F*ing the whole thing up.. but here's the school.
People and entities need to learn to say "I'm sorry. We were wrong. Let's move forward and build the school like it was intended".

It's part of the AME Property, They are renting it out to people who know it's not long term.

I don't know ED, that's quite a stretch. My guess is that they could perform 95+% of the construction on AME before the "eviction" would be necessary

Doubt it - day 1 the dozers roll and they're out on their butts.
This wont be like the Looney Tunes scene where they build a building around Bugs Bunny's hole.

If the district asks me to change HSs, and split my kids to different schools, so my youngest can attend a different overcrowded HS then the overcrowded HS my older two attend and I can pay for the privelege as well...I will not be a happy camper.

Local families face uncertain future as agricultural acreage dwindles in DuPage Sun, The: Wheaton (IL) May 18, 2007 Author: By Jennifer Golz Estimated printed pages: 3 .....Creeping development Despite relocating his family from their Iowa farm last year to Naperville, Galusha assistant farm manager Wendall Boehlje, 41, said he remains optimistic. The family of four live on a working 85-acre farm on Naperville's far west side. But even that is a temporary parcel for Galusha to farm, as either side of the farmhouse the Boehljes live in is flanked by billboards announcing the future site of St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church. It is only a matter of time before the church also terminates its contract with Galusha to develop its site on which the Boehljes live.

Gatordog, I have to call you out, I have to point out that when talking about Fry moving to WV..."the distance is neglible", but when talking about Gombert going to NV "the distance cost is now much higher"?
I see the two distances equal. Just shows that it is the eye of the beholder and that we all see the situation through our own rose colored glasses.
