Daily Herald 2/16/08 Saturday Soapbox
Waiting for the inevitable
With some Indian Prairie Unit District 204 students looking at up to 30 minutes on a bus to get to and from school each day under the current boundary proposal for the third high school, how long will it take before parents are talking about a fourth high school?
WOW! Is this not one of the stupidest comments made in the last six months??
How about siting the school in a better location?
If there's a fourth high school built in this district , it will be a private high school and it would be wildly successfull.

How about the DH print the current average bus ride in the district today and the proposed average bus ride?
The third HS caused the longer commutes...DUH!

How about the DH print the current average bus ride in the district today and the proposed average bus ride? The third HS caused the longer commutes...DUH! Nope our SB caused the longer commutes. Also, let's face it traffic times aren't going to ever get better. This wrong site will be wrong forever and we'll be stuck paying for it in so many different ways. I'm glad there's 18% of the student population that might be happy with the site location but the other 82% don't think it's good at all. Demand a re-vote or at least an independent evaluation. None of us voted on the referendum we're getting (cost, location, boundaries, etc.) IMO, I think the SB "cooked their goose" (thanks granny for all those great sayings I still use). I think there will be a LOT of angry people at Tuesday's meeting and there will be some 'splaining to do! Is there any reason to think our SB might be smart enough to change venues to a larger space or will we just need to get there at 5:00?
