It will appear to be a total set-up. Give them an outrageous situation that the whole district can see is brutal and then "fix" it. Fix it for Watts & Cowlishaw too. Then they could really stick it to Fry with the longest commute, unusable bridge and a split middle school.

Would someone really sue because they are mad Owen east is going south? Come on. This is great news. Hey, maybe they will swap Owen east for the Wheatland area and make that Rt. 59 line nice and clean. Would that make you guys happy down there?
I'm not surprised at all. I myself sent a proposal that had Owen split with Owen east going to NV. Makes nice clean borders up to 75th Street too. Cleans up the Petersen split. Everyone's happy, right? (Wrong)
I hope they can fix other ES's problems too. IMO distance is of the utmost concern for everyone. I'm afraid it doesn't solve everyone's problems though. But if this rumor is true, that gives me hope that they could consider another move for others.
As far as using the board member's residence to justify a switch, let's be realistic. You can't argue the boundaries are rigged for someone's benefit if it really makes sense. Now pulling Bulita and sending them to MV so Fry can stay at NV would be rigging the boundaries for no reason. You can't argue Owen going south makes sense, even if people don't like it.

Time to get out the foil hats.......... maybe you should reread my comments. I'm most upset at the RUMOR of this. Has the board met yet? But, so many rumors telling of this possibility. That is the biggest issue I have. I'm sick of the rumors becoming reality. I was clear that I had nothing against Owen East and thought they were getting a raw deal (as is Watts, Fry, etc.). And, who are they going to pull out of NVHS to accomodate this swap? Wow, I've already been PM'd with the fix to accomodate Owen East to NVHS and those that will be pulled out. This is the problem I have. Is this rumor, or reality? It seems to have already been decided. That's the problem I have. |

We all know based on what has been posted here and what the SB has been telling us, don't believe anything until it actually happens. I sure don't like people getting inside scoop from a board member though. Vauge comments, sure, but actual promises or getting their hopes up? Not good. Sounds like they are meeting in private and discussing things or why would he/she promise that? Are they supposed to do that? Or is just the board member promising to do what he can to help a neighborhood. Sounds very specific though. This whole thing just blows my mind. |
