GD: Work with connected people in the community to drum up sponsorships to make up the difference. Just figure out accurately how much money they are short and if given the authority (and some parameters), I would bet dollars to donuts that people out there in the community could come up with it even in the down economy. Wait wasn't our new Super touted as the corporate money wunderkind in Kentucky -- have we seen dollar one yet ? Of course if it was able to be applied to MV - that would close that gap in a hurry -- other districts like Vernon Hills have done it --to the tune of $1.2M for stadium naming rights. why not us ? What would that be worth for a school here ? There was plenty of room for out of the box thinking to close the $3.1M gap at BB -- In fact that work should have been being done when we knew the jury verdict may not go well--

I think you are right in your thinking...b/c the current site is questionable and I am not willing to gamble with any child's life....life is hard enough, why take that risk? Dash will be long gone if the school gets built here and the 1st child gets sick, so he does not have much at stake....I am surprised at the other folks on the SB, they have no concerns about the safety of our children....maybe they need to talk to some children that have developed an unexplained brain tumor....this could wake some of them up.

All right! NOW my checkbook is out!! How much and who do I send the $$ to? I don't have 3.1M but I can make a start! So when MV opens with fresh and sophs....all we need is $2000 per student to make up the $3 mil difference! I think I might need to inquire about the payment plan for that one. Or maybe my daughter just spends an awful lot of time washing cars GD, If the rumor that BB came down 5 mm is true, or if we can get them to come down 5mm by negotiating, then BB would be at least 1.9 mm cheaper than AME for a 2010 opening. We are 3.1 M short for the jury award and a 2010 opening. Rumor has it that BB came down $5M. We can afford BB with a 2010 opening. What is your response now?

If BB came down from $31m to ~$26m (which would allow us to not run a deficit), but it means delaying school opening to Aug 2010, I would support that. Enthusiastically! But, unfortunately, it seems like a big "if". If this rumor were true, I find it hard to believe that the northern site would have received unanimous support when the SB voted.

Does anyone know or care to speculate why the Daily Herald hasn't had one article about the actual lawsuit that was filed against SD 204 by NSFOC? The only article I have seen is JHB opinion piece.

Because it's a frivolous lawsuit. I'm not surprised the non-attention the group/lawsuit have been getting.

I was going to go with, "If you do not have anything nice to say... Don't say anything at all.." I know that is certainly not a widely held opinion
