Unfortunately, 2 17 year-olds were killed in the accident. One was a senior at WVHS the other from Darien. The senior was a friend of my child's. Wonderful young man, smart, athletic and a truly nice boy. There was an interfaith service for him this evening at St. Thomas in Naperville, he will be buried tomorrow. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers and also his fellow students who mourn the loss of their friend.

Greetings,
An accident was reported Sunday night, around 11:00 p.m., that involved one of our students. The Warrior Community is deeply saddened by the passing of senior, Adnaan Rahman. Please find the information regarding the details of the services to be held for Adnaan today, Tuesday Aug 10, 2010. The following information was received from the Rahman family this morning:
There will be two phases to Adnaan’s services.
First there will be funeral prayers at the Islamic Foundation School at Villa Park, 300 West Highridge Road, Villa Park 60181 at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Then the funeral procession will proceed to Clarendon Hills Cemetery at 6900 S. Cass Ave, Clarendon Hills (Near the corner of 67th St. and Cass Ave.) and the burial will take place between 3:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Both services are open to all of his friends and teachers who wish to attend or they may attend the burial at the Clarendon Hills Cemetery, if more convenient.
If anyone wishes to attend the funeral prayers at the Islamic Foundation, proper Islamic attire is requested. Head scarves for ladies and full length pants for all attendees is expected within the mosque.
Your kindness in remembering the family at this time of distress is deeply appreciated.
To further support our students, WV will offer support services in the LMC from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM tomorrow, Aug 11th, 2010. Please utilize these services as you need.
Thank you for your time.

Adnaan was a varsity football player and my son knew him personally. Great kid. This is so tragic. My prayers go to his family and friends.

The parents of both kids will likely feel guilt for allowing them to drive/ride in a car that is meant for experienced drivers.
It's a shame two young lives were lost.

Regardless of the car, it is sad to see a young soul depart in the prime of their life. My condolences to the families. It is a horrible thing to have a child die and I hope I do not live to see it myself.
