Oh the joy of D204. If it were a business it would be defunct. My latest joy is my wife telling me how screwed up things are at WVHS. Specifically, in this case, the volleyball tryouts. Here is the pdf listing tryout times: wvhs.ipsd.org/uploads/Athletics/FallPracticeInfo-2010.pdf You can see in paragraph 2 fresh/soph tryouts are from 12pm-2pm. It clearly says: "Frosh/Soph from 12:00 -2:00 pm." So thinking that is Central time my wife takes my daughter and a friend at just before noon and drops them off. When they arrive, the coach says, "where have you been, tryouts started at 11..." My daughter told my wife about this later and my wife went back and looked at the entire website to see if a change was announced somewhere. Sorry. So next time you see a time listed for an event at WVHS, my advice is to call someone and ask if that is Central or EST...

I'll bet Metea's times were right though. Seriously EST ? That may be a real award winning goof up...

What a great way to make a first impression. I'm sorry for your daughter as I'm sure she was quite embarrassed and it certainly was no fault of hers. Hopefully the coach was understanding but nonetheless it shouldn't have happened.
It's happened to us numerous times where practices (and even games) change. Coaches end practice early or let them out late. I hate to say but eventually I just got used to waiting. I could never count on coming later because everytime I did that she'd get out of practice early. Don't worry though she can always take the activity bus home (is there still one of those?).

I can understand the confusion, if it were a May Watts student at Metea.
After all, aren't they in different time zones? ;-)
(that one's for you doc)

After all, aren't they in different time zones? ;-) (that one's for you doc) maybe that's what confused them- 3 zip codes over...or maybe they were using the time zone map when determining boudaries -- thank you for the Watts tip o' the hat on this issue seriously- is there anything that is correct any more
