okay, who at the IHSA checks these things out ? attendance @ MVHS 2480 ? really ? When ? they will be high 1700's starting the year and if every signle kid eligible under current boundaries attends will add low 500's next fall- that makes 2480 how ? by the way 1719+ = 4A so maybe it doesn't matter but is still wrong - and if they mean 2480 now- which isn't far off of the bullcrap that was given to the Herald and 3000 next year- then the fibbing has really kicked into high gear www.ihsa.org/school/schools/0137.htmAurora (Metea Valley) Background Information Season Summaries (Titles, Won-Lost Records, and Head Coaches) Metea Valley High School 1801 N. Am I wrong to think that some varsity teams at Metea will be at a severe disadvantage for a few more years (not enough students to successfully field some of the sports)? How can you take Neuqua at 4200 and Metea at 1800 and fairly compete within the bigger sports? Some individual and smaller sports won't be impacted but I don't see how teams like volleyball could be competitive for awhile. Anyone have anything to add?

I would agree with you and I know many who 'would have gone' to MV and played varsity that are in private school so they could get the complete 4 year HS experience AND play on a decent team.

When I hear about a starting outside hitter being almost a full foot shorter than most hitters at another team..you have to wonder. Now school is not all about sports to be sure...even for those who will land college scholarships to play..and for most sports those scholarships are landed in club ball- not at high school games that are not attended by college coaches- but there are exceptions -- football being the most notable - I know of one who made such an opposite choice - a boy and they missed an opportunity to be on the 3rd ranked team in the state for soccer right now..went from varsity to soph team now on first varsity squad. I hope club lands them where they want to be as they are a good player, and I know his parents were torn. the up side the one sport I know the most about- the benefactor of all this is Waubonsie - who public school wise I believe has the best varsity team in the immediate Naperville/Aurora area and understand had a very good incoming class as well. Happy for all Warrior fans and they have a coach that knows what to do with talent.
