I hope by "savings" they are not speaking of the inconsequential return on commercial savings accounts as they often do (if so I might suspect this article as being seeded by commercial banking interests and the statistics being squewed under this measure) . There are many other ways you can keep the cash quite liquid and earn a respectable return.
If they are not, god help us all.

When you've been around the block a few years, like I have, it's have to exclude some cynicism from creeping into an otherwise positive attitude. I think most Americans understand that China's government officials benefit immensely at the expense of the people. They skim their share or otherwise use their position to enrich themselves. Far from examples of true communists, they address it in name only. Bloomberg just printed an article about the incoming leader in China, Xi Jinping, highlighting his "connections," through relatives, to considerable wealth. For that article, Bloomberg has now been blocked in China. You can read the story here: www.zerohedge.com/news/story-got-bloomberg-news-blocked-chinaBut doesn't the same thing happen here? Countless politicians have reaped generous rewards from their "service" in Washington or locally. Dennis Hastert for the fortuitous land sale here in Illinois...; Tom Daschle for his connections to the Health Care field while a Senator, now a lobbyist on K Street in D.C. Just this morning I saw Terry McCauliff, former DNC Chairman in the Clinton years on CNBC. Now he is CEO of Green Tech Auto and on the Advisory Board of a company called Delose Living. Links to the websites are below. What good fortune to be in a "green" company and now a "healthcare wellness" company. And on the later company Board is also Dick Gephardt, former house majority leader and now also a Washington lobbyist. Oh and there is Mel Martinez, former Florida Senator... delosliving.com/about/wmgta.com/en/I see a bright future for all of them. Perhaps some green and wellness federal grants coming their way as well...
