Nix regional superintendent and hire more teachers Dr. Darlene Ruscitti, regional superintendent of schools, wrote a letter to The Sun recently, which was published last Sunday. The gist of her letter was that we were in for some belt-tightening, with possible increases in classroom sizes. From her website, it appears that Dr. Ruscitti has 49 people working for her. At $100,000 per position, the personnel cost alone would be about $5 million. If her department were abolished and her budget redistributed, how many more teachers could we put in those classrooms? Jefferson Perkins Naperville --------------------------------- that is a VERY good question... what to they do??

They do a very important job. If you take a request to your school and they say they don't know what to do, they bump it up to the regional office. When you contact the regional office they bump it back down to the local school and then the local school makes a decision or takes action per your request.
See the value-add there?
