As much as I love Waubonsie, know many of the players, and think highly of their coach -- I have to live at home and could never root against my daughter... Benet 3-0 this year vs. Waubonsie and I am afraid to say, it will be 4-0 after tonite. My green and gold stuff stays in the closet today funny though - Waubonsie's main weakness happens to be something it didn't have to be - if you get my drift. I understand completely! Good luck to your daughter!! Warriors came out on fire yesterday - winning game one and I realized just how much Warrior Dad was still left in me as the Warrior chant was loud and continuous. I also admit I imagined ( not the first time) my daughter out there in green & gold setting the Warriors ro victory like her sister before her. At Benet most kids get one solid year of starting varsity as they sit behnd yet another round of Division 1 scholarship girls...we have 10 juniors who likely will ALL play in college - and 19 D1 scholarships in 3 years previous. There are no 4 year varsity starters or heck no three year, and unless your 6'3" + few two's. I spent time after the match with Coach Kristin and Al Lagger ( who was there when my oldest played) - as I usually do when we are at the same tournaments sharing some private thoughts. Congrats to the 8 seniors graduating this year- nice run. Hold your heads high you did Waubonsie proud..nice team, nice kids and class coaching yet another in the list of possibilities I feel robbed of from the bullshit of M2 and crew.

Congrats, Dr. Who to your daughter and the Benet team. I'm disappointed that WV lost but I'm happy for the Benet girls. On to State (hopefully!). I'm guessing our favorite Judge, Popejoy, was retained? I didn't see it in the paper but didn't look very hard. It is almost impossible for one to be removed from office. If his little indiscretion didn't get him booted, I don't know what would. It's just like anything else - an ole boys' network who protect their own. We have a SB member calling a victim's parent a MF and a judge who leaves the scene of an accident? All in a day's work.

Most people just vote 'yes' for retentions and the apparent "glug glug, vroom vroom, thump thump" incident was buried as quickly as possible.
Still doesn't mean that someone might be afraid to admit they have a problem. . .

All in a day's work. because the average voter spends zero time educating themselves in anything they are voting on. It really is sad..... if I heard one more person from the city interviewed on tv - mimic tv commercials that Giannoulias was for the poor people and Kirk for the rich I wanted to scream ! It's like 75% of the voters are just sheep -- yep - a lot of poor people write of $2.7M on their tax returns.. idiots !!!!

Absolutely! But don't forget Princess Madigan too. We're going to have the Madigan family leading the show for a long time to come.

Chicago Tribune endorsed his retention. They also endorsed George Ryan for governor back in 98. How'd that work out? When did the Tribune become the moral compass ? and just for the record the he was not endorsed by the Sun times-

Thanks arch, I did not realize the Tribune had endorsed Popejoy. I agree with Mac's label of dysfunction. I guess only in Illinois this type of behavior by judges, who must be held to the highest standard, rewarded the electorate.
Yes, dysfunctional is a very appropriate appellation I say. I guess I should just be glad the mafia banker didn't get elected.
Guess I'll just await indictment of this governor.
