Indian Prairie School District 204, located in Naperville and Aurora, Illinois, is seeking an outstanding educational leader at Waubonsie Valley High School who will help us achieve our mission of inspiring all students to achieve their greatest potential. The principal will be responsible for the supervision of High School students while providing leadership to staff in establishing a vision toward a quality learning environment, and to manage building operations.
Indian Prairie School District 204 is recognized as an academic leader supporting outstanding athletic and activity programs. The District serves over 29,000 students and is the third largest in the State.
This is a 12 month position starting July 1, 2012, competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Job Summary:
1. Provide instructional leadership for staff development and evaluation, curriculum review, planning and evaluation, and instructional methods.
2. Counsel staff, students and parents. Respond to issues, concerns and problems providing guidance on school policy, mediating and resolving conflict and developing and implementing behavioral interventions as needed.
3. Maintain regular communication with parents, students and staff.
4. Manage and collaborate on special projects and auxiliary programs for the school and District.
5. Review, interpret and synthesize assessment and research data to design and plan school improvements.
6. Implement programs for special education based on Individual Education Plans and integrate into the classroom.
7. Build consensus amongst staff in regards to curriculum, District initiatives and school climate issues.
8. Manage the development of master calendar, staff assignments, course sequence, student placement and room utilization.
9. Manage building operations: oversee building maintenance and housekeeping, coordinate building rentals.
10. Provide oversight and evaluation of extra-curriculum activities and programs.
11. Represent High School at Conference and other external organizations.
12. Develop building crisis plan in accordance with District policies.
13. Prepare building budget, allocating funds and monitoring and approving expenses.
14. Review, verify and approve data for state and federal reporting.
15. Responsible to manage all school employees. Hire and train employees, assign, review and check work, eliminate ordinary difficulties, enforce organizational policies, establish performance standards, and evaluate employee performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Educational Administration, or related field
Valid Illinois Administrative (type 75) certificate
Three to five years successful administrative experience
Secondary school administrative experience preferred
Administration of athletic/activity programs preferred
