I am the parent of a special-needs child in D204. My child has been attending school in D204 for the last five years. Although it should not come as a surprise, for the fourth time in the last five years, my child's bus did not arrive this morning for the first day of school. And its unclear whether any bus will transport our child home today.
I am flabbergasted that our district / transportation service provider can't get this right. We haven't moved; our situation hasn't changed. Our information is the same every year. But yet, our child still hasn't been assigned a bus route as of this writing. Why can't you provide transportation on the first day of school / first week of school? What is so hard to get a small bus scheduled for a small number of special needs kids? I just don't freakin' get it.

I just don't freakin' get it. Well don't forget the genius strain at the Crouse center decided they can run buses- bus schedules better than any bus company- just assign a bridge person to it... Anything to keep the true costs of MVHS from making their way public Has this been resolved....? Please let me know.. For the past few years transportation and the lunch program has been handled by the Director of Support Services which is under the Business Department. Happen to notice Karla Zozulia (who has ran that department) is not listed as Director of Support Services? Wonder if her departure has had anything to do with the numerous transportation issues. You are likely not alone with the issue.. Contact the new Assistant Superintendent of Business, Mr. Jay Strang ASAP - don't beat around the bush - what you are dealing with for the taxes we put into this district is nonsense. We keep watering down what skills we had so that they can keep a lid on all the nonsense...

Its now been resolved after another false start, as we had further frustration Thursday afternoon after being promised that the bus issue was resolved (but wasn't). Our child was not put on a bus in the afternoon and was stranded at school and we were called to pick him up (school isn't particularly close because our home school in D204 doesn't host special needs kids). Lost two hours at work on Thursday due to both morning and afternoon transportation miscommunication and incompetence.
I'm going to go ahead and schedule a vacation day for the first day of school next year so that I can provide efficient transportation services for my children.

I am glad it's been resolved - but here we ar again, paying for excellence and settling for mediocrity - sad
