Opening up for some discussion ( if we can generate it ) - on something that affects many of us here -- the referendum to leave Naperville as an at large voting municipality or to go forward with the future voting by wards.
My concerns on Wards are that arguably Naperville has run pretty well with at large voting. yes, there are groups that have some legitimate issues ( zoning decisions?) but we still have good city services - tax bills going down ( outside of the 204 fiasco ) - and 30 miles east of us one can see the worst side of Ward voting -- today being a highlight where an out of town political power attempting to virtually buy a seat.
Even the best intentioned rep will have to create ward offices and staff and grow the political structure.
Sine I have not been personally negatively affected by any one particular decision - the closest being the Hobson Ponds battle which ended up settled well.... I wanted to get people's opinions on this issue....
Maybe we can take 'Ol Blue into the political arena now that 204 is quiet ( until the next boundary issue & tax increase )
