I was thinking about how the last few years has seen slowed growth in 2nd-5th grade (details here: ipsd204.proboards76.com/index.cgi?board=discuss&action=display&thread=1140815110 ). Obviously, some of the slow down in enrollment growth is in part due to the number of homes being built over that time slowing down. Another thing that I think should be considered is that some alternatives to public schooling have opened over the last few years. For example, All Saints Academy in Naperville. I'm sure some of the kids attending are from 204. Does anyone know of any other facilities that have opened over the last few years in the area that are alternatives to public education for grade school age kids? Why do I ask? Let's say that All Saints Academy currently has 100 kids from 204 (I have no idea what the real number is). While that's less kids enrolled in 204 grade schools, these kids will end up in 204 high schools, or perhaps even middle school. This is the same for kids in Montessori, etc. So, any facility that has opened within the last few years that would be an alternative to 204 grade schoolers could skew the enrollment numbers a little lower than they would be otherwise. After these places are established & at capacity, the 204 enrollment numbers might return to "normal", but it sure seems to me that me that we need to be careful about underestimating the HS enrollment in 4-5 years.

Where is this located? When did it open? How many kids attend? What grade levels attend?

It is next to Wheatland. It couldn't hold more than 60-100 kids at most.

The one I am talking about is on Oswego Rd (Rickert and Ogden). It is for grades K-8. I am not sure about enrollement but I can call tomorrow to get more information.

Its a chain - there are a few of them in Naperville. I know there's one in the South, one on Rickert and Ogden and one on 63rd and Hobson (203). There might be more. Calvalry Christian also greatly expanded their school facilities. I have a few neighbors who elected to go private. I'm not sure how to measure that impact though if it exists.
I seem to think that growth is in the process of finally nearing a gentle conclusion, but with as many students as we have, even 5-10% per year as we will likely experience over the next 5-10 years creates quite the impact. If we were still growing 26% as we were 3 years ago, we'd have an even bigger disaster.
If you look at those enrollment tables in the other post, in 2000-2001, we were still increasing in the 38% range. How with that level of growth happening, this area elected to go with Fr. Campuses is completely mind-blowing...
