Yes, I heard that the campus would be converted concurrently with the new HS opening. There would be no other way to do it. To be clear, too, "converting" WV Gold to an MS equates to changing the name on the building, and nothing more (per JC).

I think its totally acceptable for NV to have the Fr. Campus because a) it is much more "walkable" than WV Fr. Campus, b) it is where the growth is, c) it is a fair trade - smaller school w/ 4 grade levels vs. larger school w/ Fr. Campus, d) I have not heard such raving commentary on the Fr. Campus format that I would consider it to be a boon one way or the other and e) it lets more people stay at NV and that's what they want anyway. If they had left the Fr. Campus at WV, there would be holy rolling revolution about how it could be OK for the red headed stepchild WV to have a "mega" school but not fine for anyone else. Personally, I would prefer the traditional 4 year school. We had split campuses when I was in HS and I hated it. It was hard to get to sports back and forth between campuses, it was hard to make any friends beyond your own grade, kids on your team were not in your school, you had to be the "new guy" twice and find your way around. I really thought it sucked. I also had split campuses. You are right, sports was the main thing that was the issue. While I did not hate the school part, I absolutely could not stand the annoying rush to get on the bus to get shipped to the other campus. Sorry for bristling, Arch. I know you are well respected on this board. After the whole charmant/LGC thing, I feel touchy about things like that, even though the question truly may be innocuous, which it probably was.

Keep playing the inequities card.
Really, is NVHS still having a frosh campus that much different? Doesn't feel so to me and my kids won't be going there regardless. Frankly, I'd rather not have the frosh center as the very idea seems rather dull.

Perhaps my wording was ill-chosen. Let me try another way to get the thought out: I was asking because one one hand, conversations indicate the HS populations are going to be split 3 ways near-evenly and on the other I understand that doesn't always work out that way. The inequity being seen/perceived in the 3-way split scenerio is this: 2 Schools w/ their population in 1 building. 1 School w/ their population split amongst 2 buildings, giving the feeling of more 'elbow' room in the HS because 1/3 of the population is in another separate building. But the three schools are not going to be split evenly. NV is slated to have approximately 1000 more kids than WV and the New High school. There is no additional "elbow room" at NV. NV will have up to 1000 students per class, while the other two high schools will have around 750. That is a huge disadvantage, which is why I found it completely acceptable & almost preferable to go to the new high school even though it's 3 times further than NV (our community will be staying at NV, though).

I asked a legit question, and admitted the wording was ill chosen. I corrected it. I also conceeded errors in my posting (1/3 versus 1/4) and someone was nice enough to understand what I was asking and fully answer the question. Thank You, DRW and Fence.
If my motive was to sway firmly locked YES voters, I would not be wasting my time here seeking or sharing information because the probability for conversion is pretty asymptotic. So go ahead and kick the cat all you want if it makes your day.

I had just read the top10 cr*p this morning too, so yeah, I can understand the possibility that my poor choice of words could have rubbed the wrong way. That's why I was quick to correct/rephrase.
