All this back and forth debating and speculating is obviously just a way for us to all vent. NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYTHING THESE IDIOTS HAVE ALREADY DECIDED TO GO TH.OUGH WITH AT ANY EXPENSE. I promised not to say anything regarding my source that is a personal friend of a SB member but at this point I have had it with the hypocrosy on the part of the SB. I personally had a SB member tell me that nothing is going to change....school IS going up at the AME site and we all need to move on and support this effort. I think to make a statement like that and then entertain public comment is a total joke and shows total lack of leadership. I wish we could have some of them removed from office beginning with MM's pompous #$%.

3wood, I haven't spoken to any SB member about it and already knew we were going ahead. The SB was elected to make decisions. Sure, they screwed up. I think they are moving forward with more caution, but moving forward.

Erin who wrote the letter about Tall Grass is a good friend of mine. I agree with her that Tall Grass has great people in it. We all hope our neighborhood will be there for us in a time of need. We all hope our school board will represent the best interest of our neighborhoods. Unfortunately the school board members all live in the northern part of the school district. Alka Tyle is the only one of the 7 members that lives in Will county, all the rest are Dupage county. The majority of district 204 student population resides in Will. I know our school board has a tough job that I would not do for a large salary, yet they do it as an unpaid position. Given that, it does seem personal agendas might come into play. Naturally they would know their own neighborhood better than other parts of the district. Which is why I feel the board should be made up of residents that represent each area. Like the city council wards. That way it is assured each areas interests are looked out for. That would also help the north vs. south thing that seems to be starting. We are one community. One school district. One large neighborhood. Lets try to work together to look at the issues, and do what is right for our whole neighborhood. I know many people agree our school board has made some reckless decisions, acted hastily, misrepresented the facts, or hidden the truth. Time to hold them accountable. SLOW DOWN! Get organized. Make a real long term plan. Get input from the community, and listen. Do it right. Ask them this at the meeting, through emails, phone calls, letters....... What do you consider the "northern part of the district"? At least 3 SB members I can think of (Stephens, Vickers and Metzger) all live very close to or south of the "equator" of the district. and NONE of their areas are going to MV -- however Watts and Cowlishaw - with no SB members in the area are -- you connect the dots.

My point is we need to get rid of the North vs. South mentality. The school board members all live in Dupage county with the exception of Alka. Their natural tendency to look out for their own areas could get in the way. We need to have SB members who live all over the district. Our district has a very large student population living in Will county. Many districts require a SB that reflects the population of the district, and I think it would help our district be better represented to look at that possibility. We need to look at our district as one. The city councils are made up of wards with reps from each area. This helps each area of the city have a voice through their representative. Seems like a good plan! We need to get our entire 204 working as one. We all want what is best for our children. We all want a good educational system. We all want our kids to be safe, well educated, and happy. These are common goals. Lets remember we are all people with common goals. Not North vs. South/WVHS vs. NVHS/ Aurora vs. Naperville ect.. WE ARE ALL DISTRICT 204. Lets look at the big picture. If this situation were happening in another state and we were reading about it in the paper what thoughts would we have? Lets try to be objective, and respectful. Lets not try to pit against each other. It gets nothing done. What result we want may not all be the same, but our goals are, so lets talk about that, and how we can get want we all want - a school district we can be proud to be a part of.

I think they are moving forward with more caution, but moving forward. Leaders understand when they've made bad decisions, and have enough integrity to admit it. "Sure, they screwed up" is NOT an acceptable answer for moving forward at warp speed. Safey isn't something you consider only when timing is convenient.

Funny how SB members run their mouths when in a comfort zone. Yet people like you still have blinders on that "they all have good intentions.". Just not so.

I completely agree with your desire to view this from the perspective of being a unified district. I just wanted to clarify the point about SB member "distribution".

3wood, please share your "facts". We won't tell. I've inquired on other threads in both boards re: SB motives/agendas so I too would be interested in hearing about this

You don't need a source to see that this SB has agendas. Look at the boundaries and it is full of agendas. Loved it whan Alka was trying to get Owen East into NV. That would sure make it harder for her area to go to WV. Also when the administration did not speak up about the three way split this would create at the MS level, but quick to point this out when Welch was brought up. It is very clear if you watch it closely.
