Why not Waubonsie East and Waubonsie West. At least then the mothers from Gombert who are considering sewing two shirts together (Senior and fresh at two schools) may not have to go to that extreme, just velcro east or west on.

I feel I need to explain the "Willard Scott High School" joke as it went way over most people's heads. I was not talking about the rather rotund weatherman, and I was truly kidding, so don't blast me for this, or take me seriously. Willard Scott, a pioneer Naperville settler and founding father, by the Pottawattomi Indians who came to Northern Illinois about 1720. Around 1830, Scott and his parents opened a trading post along the DuPage River, about three miles south of present-day Naperville. Brave, daring, and intelligent, Willard Scott quickly made an impact on early DuPage County history. Throughout his rich and eventful 84-year life, Scott was highly respected in his community as a man of unswerving honesty, sound judgement, and scrupulous integrity. His ability to effectively manage Indian affairs, his expertise at peacefully settling disputes between settlers and native Americans, and his remarkable skills in backwoods crafts, tracking, and hunting earned him the well deserved title of "White Eagle." Willard Scott was held in such high esteem by his Pottawattomi neighbors that they also made him an Indian Chief. whiteeagle.ipsd.org/about_hx.aspAgain, I am joking, I would not seriously propose to name the new HS "White Eagle High", even in a roundabout way. I can't believe nobody caught on to this, even on the "other" board. I thought he was a weatherman for the Today Show . . .

Hey, how about Chief Illiniwek since Illinois will probably have to get rid of him. Oh, Scratch all those Native American names then.

I really think we should push for "WV East" and "WV West," and while we're at it, we should rename Neuqua "WV South."

<quote " Prairie Commons works too, although I've got a bad feeling our mascot would be a prairie dog..... " quote <
ooo - the fighting prairie dogs ! hahaha ! OF cours emy high school mascot was an Owl -- how bad is that ?
Well Shabbona was another Potawatomie that aided to end to the wars - that would work - - but maybe another member of the tribe that fought every thing to the end - Chief Black Hawk would be more appropriate
