Please someone tell me that our SB is at least responding to your emails saying to rethink the site. They're not answering mine! Not mine since September. Although, my email address might be in the spam filter at this poiont.

But, if there are questions that people have, I can try getting them through.

Are you standing there telling them how awesome the AME site is or what (I can't even remember your position with regards to AME)? I've sent several very respectful emails with my comments as well as questions but haven't heard a thing. Maybe mine don't count as one of the "MANY POSITIVE RESPONSES to AME" that BG has received. ;D

Also, here's just a little "fun fact" that I learned. Did you know that 75% of Elementary students in District 204 kids live south of 75th Street? Won't that be fun down the road when they're all headed north for HS? If 25% of the kids are north of 75th, then doesn't a north school make sense? That is if you take into consideration that WV is technically south of 75th. Even if you want to dispute that fact, most likely kids who live near WV were considered south of 75th for that statistic. Not saying AME is the best site, but if the schools are a breakdown of 30% MV, 30% WV, 40% NV, it isn't so far off have a north school if a GOOD site can be found.

Macom would be fine as well. I don't like the AME drive distance, but I could live with that. The environmental issues are what's bugging me and making me speak out against AME. That and the SB responses have been not as clear cut or as informative as I would have liked.

The problem is that the ES that live close to AME also live close to WVHS. If you move all of WVHS that lives West of 59th street and then also Longwood and Brookdale then maybe that would be reasonable. However, if some of the ES that live close to WVHS argue to stay at WVHS rather than go to AME (probably because of health concerns), then you are forcing 30% of the new school to make an undesirable commute. Absolutely don't make our kids or ANY have that commute if the SB can't even answer questions adequately regarding our health concerns.

I'm just tired of the drama on both sides of the issue. Facts and stats from both sides are inflated and self-serving. It's making it hard for me to decide where my support should lie. Not that it matters anyway.

This NAY sayer would love to be flat out wrong.
Let's start with the big ones:
1) Please prove that natural gas pipelines are not a potential terrorist target. 2) Please also prove that EMF does no harm to children who are still growing.

Terrorist target? Seriously? Prove that this is a real risk. Also, I'd rather the SD prove to me that the actual site EMF levels would cause no harm. That's what they're supposed to do. Not me. So far, I've seen nothing.

I just read through the PDF again to be sure, after reading all these EMF scary posts. The EMF readings where the school will be are lower than inside the average home.

You're right, the site report is something. I forgot about that. But I want more than just site readings, I want specifics.
This report offers nothing more tham EMF readings. It mentions the NIOSH recommendations (occupational standards for adults, not children), without being specific. And it says that there have been numerous studies showing a causal link to EMF and health concerns, but in THEIR OPINION they have been inconclusive.
