Do you think that the SB will approve the Administration's recommendation to purchase the AME site?

Do you think that the SB will approve the Administration's recommendation to purchase the AME site? I hope they do and I hope the school opens as planned in 2009.

I hope they delay to get more info about the site and seriously consider the potential hazards, but I have the sinking feeling they will just do it to get it over with.

I don't think there would have been a recommendation if the majority fo the board wasn't already in favor. After all, as reported on this board, the SB directed Dr. D to announce the site selection. If there was any significant doubt about approval, i think the SB would not have made any announcement.
By the way, i've worked in that "dismal, gray" industrial area for 26 years and it's really not as bad as some say. Indeed, in the summer, it's rather nice. It's certainly at least as attractive as Rt 59.
I also agree that the site will be much easier to reach in the evenings for after school parent involvement. Anyone on 88, or the train will avoid an impossibly long trip south to 75th street.
Just my opinion, I know others will disagree.

I'm sure they all in agreement.
Would look stupid if the SB rejected it...

My crystal ball says: 1. The board will approve the AME site. (enrollment will decline) 2. A lot of drama and saber rattling will occur for the next couple of months. Nothing will come of it except for bitter feelings. (enrollment will decline) 4. In July 2008, it will be announced that the school can't possible be ready by 2009. [Insert reason here] (enrollment will decline) 5. 2009 board elections will bring us four new board members. (enrollment will decline) 6. 2010 ref will start being formulated. Alot of facility "parity pork" (yup my new phrase) will be added for WVHS to ensure a smooth passage. (enrollment will decline) 7. 2010 ref will pass with no problems. MVHS opens with a cloud of inferior location and facility. It will never out live this cloud. (until 2016) Not that it will be true but the other two schools will perpetuate this rumor to ensure new home sales continue in the south. WVHS will become the IT school of District 204. Because don't you know NVHS is really nice but, "Man is it over crowded and they never really designed those hallways right. Too narrow kids can't move..." (enrollment will decline) 8. 2016 WVHS will be closed due to enrollment decline. (enrollment will decline) 10. 2017 everyone is happy with boundaries A little bitter maybe but that is what happens as a result of a process such as this.
