I just got back from a party thrown by a good friend. His ex-wife lives in Plainfield so the kids go there. His daughter attends one of the brand new schools. My friend says that the school is just a shell with nothing else in it. Now, we have an idea how they could put up so many schools for that money.

I was concerned that 204's new HS would be a shell because it was going to go up so fast, i.e. fall 2008 start-up date. Does anyone have any confirmed data that it would actually be finished later? I've heard 2009, 2010 and 2011 being tossed around - NONE of which has been confirmed by a reliable source. I did get a "probably 2009" out of David Holm at one of those open houses but nothing truely definite. Can anyone help me out?

I think the reason noone is giving a better timetable is it's all dependent on referendum passage.

As I understand that the goal is 2009 but if BB would agree to sell without condemnation there is a hope tat it will be done in 2008.

What I heard Howie say was that it would be done sometime late 2008 (if the referendum passes), but would likely be too late for it to open in 2008 for incoming students. He also mentioned that it was hard on students to change during mid-year, so they would just wait until the beginning of school year 2009, instead of switching students mid-year.
