AT wasn't on the board when the sites were chosen the first time so how should she know what HC did on the site report. M2 put together the site list report. Sorry but this is all BS.

I am having problems with the good Senator's involvement here. This just seems inappropriate. Not saying Macom site or offer is bad or good, just find this piece of information completely disturbing. I would welcome involvement from as many public officials (state senators, Aurora city council/mayor, Naperville city council/Mayor) in whatever capacity if they could help broker the best possible deal. I wouldn't find it disturbing. After all, if price is now the top criteria, shouldn't there be as much negotiation as possible? Maybe the SD should just list it (third HS) on eBay. Let Macom, AME, Ferry, Wagner, etc bid on it.

I still like the idea of buying Plainfield East - give them a nice little profit and let them build elsewhere - they have a lot more land. ;D -- school then open next fall - 2008 ! Or buy Naperville Central and do the rehab they don't want to - while they build their new school ...... now there's a location !!!

She said something about Howie Crouse did not do "due diligence" on that site before. I don't know what that means. Well it's nice to see someone charged with leading this district is taking some reponsibility for this mess. Oh no, Alka and Co. are throwing Howie under the bus. Speaks volumes. So now we have our list of scapegoats, in no particular order, courtesy of our school board. Too bad they just bump along while all of these terrible things happen to them! - it's the voter's fault for not passing the first ref - it's the Brodie attorney's fault for not negotiating - it's the Judge's fault for not setting a sooner trial - it's the jury's fault for awarding too much money - it's Sen Holmes' fault for not sponsoring quicktake - it's Mike Skarr's fault for saying mean things in the paper - it's the ditches' fault for being there to fall into and now it's Howie's fault for not doing due dilligence What do all of these things have in common?

Well considering a golf course just came out of eminnet domain with a jury for 204 acres at $11 million using Dec 1999 prices I say the jury did screw us. That wouild be about $54k an acre.

Now just exactly who is responsible for convincing the jury NOT to award 518 an acre? And who is reponsible for picking the person that convinces the jury to NOT award 518 an acre. I'm tired of the "poor us we are victims of circumstance"

I'm tired of the "poor us we are victims of circumstance" juries just aren't that predictable - many high profile cases have shown that. Do you think OJ / Robert Blake or Phil Spector were innocent ? Sometimes it just happens - even if your law firm is Dewey, Cheatem & Howe.

She has access to all Board docs, new and old. maybe she took the time to peruse them M2 did the site report, not HC, so how could HC be blamed for not doing DD on a north site.

I'm tired of the "poor us we are victims of circumstance" D204 Mom, You're exactly right. How come no one takes a step back and criticizes our legal counsel? No one can think we got a good deal with regards to our representation. As far as a legal suit goes, I'd say we were screwed from the start. IMO, we should be looking for new legal counsel. Time to get rid of MM's buddy. He hasn't done anything for us lately but his firm sure walks away with a good deal of money.
