Split ES (Peterson) and split housing devleopment. Third furthest middle school (Still) Second furthest high school (WVHS)
Yup, very logical. Not really sure what to say. Guess I just grin and bear it.

With the land secured, the district can now move forward with building its third high school and converting the Waubonsie Valley High School freshman building to its seventh middle school. Opening new schools necessitates changing school boundaries to determine who will attend the new schools. In evaluating boundary options, the board directed the administration to develop a plan that: 1. Balances enrollment with attention to school capacities, providing room for growth. 2. Maximizes academic strength of our three high schools and seven middle schools. 3. Minimizes the following: transportation time and costs, non-contiguous boundaries and splits that any one student would experience. We invite you to review the complete packet of information on the new boundary recommendations, including maps, Frequently Asked Questions, and transportation information which can be found using the link below. You can provide comments to the board of education until Noon on Saturday, February 16 at this page:

"With the land secured"
Does that mean they have the Phase2 data back for dissemination as well as the EMF levels? Did they actually close on the sales contract on the property and is MWGEN on the hook for any future cleanup whether identified not or not?

I don't get why Railway Plaza people presently at Longwood are getting sent to May Watts.

I don't get why Railway Plaza people presently at Longwood are getting sent to May Watts. To 'justify' May Watt's "northern footing". Dumb decision to support a dumb decision.

Ok, this is very upsetting. Brookdale was all concerned about being a solo at their middle school, well that is what Fry is getting plus a new HighSchool assignment and look at how Peterson is split.

This is yet another reason why this proposal, as is, is bad. There is not an equitable distribution of any fairness to it. They traded a small number of problems for even more problems. "Minimize" must have a new definition lately.

Why was the north central chunk of Longwood taken out and sent to Brookdale?

Split down the middle of the sub-division. With the north part of ashwood going to still not chrone that has walkable sidwalks. I know it does not matter of course. I mean who would have thought we would stay at the middle school that was in our sub division. Its cool again we are an island in our ES.

But your subdivsion is split physically by a chunk of undeveloped land, 111th and the Crone. It is not like the neighbor behind your house is going to a different school than you.

No just the ones at the pool. Hey its totally cool Bob I can see how this is fair and equitable. Hey driving past two middle schools to get to my new one. We are a minority split at our ES. No need to spend a minute more. It makes total sense. Silly me for thinking its total BS.
