Play with mercury and breathe in lead dust for 2 years... if you're not dead does that mean there was no harm done? Take a swig of water from an oil container that was not rinsed out. If you can go to work the next day does that mean it's harmless? Now, go remove the door from your microwave and bypass the safety switch mechanism that is supposed to keep it from operating with it not in place and shut. No harm there, right? You'll live and your neighbor won't notice anything different... but is there no harm done? your examples are over the top No, they are not. People are making anecdotal 'observations' about not seeing problems. So, this is right in line with that about problems that you don't 'see'.

If they were buried but still giving off the same 'fun' would you be OK with that?

Are we talking about the houses that were built where Patterson was supposed to be but got moved due to the hazard?
I still can't figure out why someone would buy a house on the same property that the district decided was bad for a school due to the power lines.

If they were buried but still giving off the same 'fun' would you be OK with that? Buried lines don't give off the same "fun."

If they were buried but still giving off the same 'fun' would you be OK with that? Buried lines don't give off the same "fun." There's three buried 'lines' that give off some kind of elevated fun at the MWGEN/AME site. Natural Gas w/ electric current.

If they were buried but still giving off the same 'fun' would you be OK with that? Buried lines don't give off the same "fun." The State of CT requires powerlines to be buried if they are near a school - this cuts down on the 'fun' considerably.

The lines were there first in this case, and the right of way is a wee bit crowded to put them underground. Does CA say to put the school underground in those cases? ;D

I would like to go on record as saying that I am absolutely opposed to using our students and faculty like lab rats in an experiment. If there is even one bit of doubt about the safety of this site, it should have been scrapped immediately. Oh, that's right, they did scrap it for this very same reason. That was before the BB court debacle.
I agree with Doc and Arch. Why take an unnecessary risk here? Frankly I am surprised that so many people are okay with it.

The EMF perception was listed a negative - the owner not willing to sell was the dealbreaker - BB was a more favorable location, I think most (but not all) agree with that. Did you know that you're sourrounded by EMFs, pretty much any time you're in or near a building or power lines? We're basically walking, talking lab rats. Do you or your kids use a hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, microwave oven, or cell phone? If so, you've got quite a science experiment going.

Usually not for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and they are not forced to do so. Popcorn cooks in about 3 minutes in my house. I think my wife would love it if they used the vaccum cleaner ;D

My daughter is not too happy with this board for educating me on the EMF's in cell phones pounding away at one's brain. Now her cell phone use is limited!

Limited microwave use, cell phones are turned on as needed and then, used 2x a week tops by 2 out of the 4 kids. I vacuum (Sorry your wife had to read that, ED), hair dryer use averages about once a month for 2 of 4 kids and that's only if we are in a rush (rarely) in the morning. Usually hair is brushed and air dries. TV extremely limited (thank you local channels only) and computers w/ LCDs instead of CRTs.
So, Warriorpride, not nearly the 'science experiment' you would assume going on in this house.

What's the quality of your water? What's the quality of your air? What chemicals are in what you & your kids eat & drink every day? Is caffine good or bad for us? What about asprin? What about chocolate? ETA: oh, what about all of those germs, especially in public places, and extra especially in schools? I'd say that we are all walking science experiments

Many years ago there was also a negative perception that smoking was bad for you. Several years ago, there was a negative perception that second-hand smoke was bad for you. Currently there is a negative perception that we are contributing to global warming However, it is a fact that EMF's are considered a possible human carcinogen.
