again with the high drama - I don't see what you're hoping to accomplish Warrior, please tell us how we should act? The SB makes decisions that effect my personal life. First and for most my children. If they can treat the parents like they have I have lost ALL confidence that they really care for my children. It is very easy for a person sitting in Brooks to be very happy. Your kids are not going on a long bus ride and being split from their MS friends. How about a little empathy and understanding why we are so pissed off. This is not what we voted for and this is not the first time a passed ref. did not produce what was voted on. IMO, we will not see phase 1 or 2 reports until the day before of the day they buy the land. They do not want our opinions, they don't matter even though we are paying for them. Sorry we can't all jump on the I love the SB train. Not going to happen. Some of us were on that train once - and still have the dirty boot mark on our backsides from the day we were kicked off.... and I have the matching bootmark on the other cheek from when we got kicked out of our HS because we didn't fit the demographic needed to fix the 'perception' That's not going to produce a lot of love - sorry

Please stop with the empathy thing on every thread - I understand the healing & the need to move on I understand that people are unhappy - but, does every freakin thread need to degrade into negative spin, complaining & name-calling? I'd have more empathy if people could refrain from lashing out all day long. It gets old after a while - and it's not particularly productive.

Sorry we can't all jump on the I love the SB train. Not going to happen. Perhaps the solution is to create a thread where we can constructively post ideas about what concerns us about the SB? Maybe it is naive on my part to think that it could be constructive, but perhaps that would avoid turning all the threads into complaints about the SB. I get along with my wife because when we fight, we're honest enough to fight about the issues we're upset about and not unresolved items. It seems to me the attacks on this announcement are really about the recent history with the land and the boundaries and not the good Mr. Schmid. unfortunately for something to be constructive - there'd have to be a willing party on the other end who gave a Ratatouille's backside about what we actually had to say. I saw how much my areas concerns meant when our area wasn't even mentioned as something to consider. Owen east - 'critical fix' - ES 2-3 minutes north of Owen....dead silence

If they handled themselves in a respectful way, made good business decisions (yes it is a business decision when it involves taxpayers $) and actually listen to people in 204 then you would not see all the negative comments (maybe some negative ones, but not like you are seeing today). So they really have no one to blame but themselves. Making the decision about the principal is not a good one until things have been settled with the land....and of course who is holding back that information....the SB and the administrators....they didn't have a problem releasing the decision about the principal, so why are they stalling on the information about the land?

As for accomplishing something - if in some way I can get the district administration and school board to re-engage the disenfranchised parents, teachers, and communities of the district rather than ignoring them (or pretending they do not exist at meetings), that would be a nice start. That's a good goal - do you think that the majority of the recent negative, juming-down-the-throat, name-calling, accusing posts by the disenfranchised parents warrant the Admin to re-engage? I don't.

I hope not, b/c that is not a good decision to have that transportation cost and more importantly for your children to be on a bus for more than an hour each way (IMO, by looking at the map)....next question would you have liked it if the concerns from your area were brought up, but not addressed? Just put yourself into someone's shoes for a moment and see how it feels....and finally why don't you want to see the reports on the land...it impacts your children more so than mine.

It seems to me the attacks on this announcement are really about the recent history with the land and the boundaries and not the good Mr. Schmid. An excellent point Chicory, and I do believe these unresolved issues are preventing us from moving forward as a community. Ignoring them in the hopes they go away will only make the wound fester rather than heal. Continuing to put the cart before the horse only upsets those that realize there's a big darn horse in the way. I wish that the district could have that open, productive discussion of what was still bothering people. FYI, I also get along with my wife because when we argue, she does not call police officers to monitor the discussion, and the fire marshall, and yell at me that "we don't have to do this".

Is there really a problem with them announcing the principal? Who even chooses the principal? Isn't it the superintendent? So how much of your anger stems from the fact they've announced a principal and how much from the fact that you're upset with the SB for operating without what you perceive to be input from the community as well as you want to hear results on the land and think they may be withholding information?

Warrior, they owe us an apology. First for how badly they handled BB and the wasted millions. MILLIONS!! Anyone in the business world would of lost their jobs for the foolish decisions this board has made. We all work very hard for that money. We should be questioning them every step of the way on this deal, since they proved themselves unworthy in the last deal. They are dealing with our KIDS. The lie with the bridge memo shows how poorly they are running this district.
I truely believe this district is the great district that it is because of the PARENTS not the SB/admin.

As stated on this board, I look forward to seeing the detailed reports

I know this is OT, but I have a confession to make.
I didn't call the fire marshall, but I joked loudly with my neighbor in the middle of the crowded lobby waiting for the feed to start that someone should--to make trouble for the SB. I have a feeling someone in the crowd called.
I suppose it could have been the SD admin, but I really think it was just a ticked off parent.

As stated on this board, I look forward to seeing the detailed reports I agree with you, but all I wanted to know if you would have been ok with your area going to NV....I think you need to answer that (not necessarily to me) to fully understand why there are unhappy people out there...and honestly this isn't the only thing people are unhappy about....I am glad you are in 204, b/c you are one of the ones that brings other ideas/suggestions that I don't necessarily think of. I am sure it gets old listening to the complaints, but again if we don't voice our opinions our SB thinks everything is ok and frankly it is not right now….so my hands are tied, I have to complain….if not I will regret it.
