Thanks for the compliment, concerned. I read it differently. So sorry.

I didn't see that as a threat as much as an opinion of the writer. I do think this will have repercussions for our kids; hopefully shortlived. There is no way, as many on this board have stated, that the kids don't know what's going on. Prejudice of any kind begins at home, whether its against a group, a race, a school, whatever. Sushi, Do you defend the opinion of the writer? Are you okay with any repercussions that will effect 11 year olds? Trust me, I have an 11 year old. He's clueless to the current situation in 204. I'm pretty grateful for that. Believe me, prejudice of any kind is not tolerated in my home and I've raised some pretty great open minded kids. Reading that sun blog directed towards my son as a future WVHS student made me sick. Do you tolerate prejudice in your home?

"Your kids are going to be hated by other students when they go to Waubonsie because of your actions. There is going to be a huge price to pay by your kids as the Waubomsie students know how much you detest the thought of your kids going to school with the "lower class" people from Waubonsie. Your actions are low class."
Sushi,
Are you really not upset by this type of dialog directed at children?
Again, I have an 11 year old son that will attend WVHS. He's clueless to what is going on. Why would anyone direct their anger towards the children?
Believe me, this type of behavior is not being encouraged in my house. It is NOT coming from ALL parents in 204 (just those that are prejudice) regardless of what you say Sushi.

I have to admit that my only concern about attending WVHS is that my kids will not be welcomed warmly.
I hope that is not the case with all my heart. Our household , like yours Macy, has not spoken of the high school issue in a negative way EVER in front of our kids. They are totally cool with going to WVHS and have never thought it was a big deal when boundaries changed.
The only ones who seemed to say something initially (according to my kids) were the Welch kids at Scullen who 'made fun of' the TG and WE kids for having to go to WVHS. According to my kids that has stopped and it is no longer mentioned; seems like the kids have moved on.
I hope that the kids who attend WVHS will not think it is a big deal either and are not brainwashed by their parents into thinking that kids from what they perceive to be a 'richer' household is any different than anyone else.

Sushi,
Sorry, no CAPICHE.
Threatening words toward children as posted by the blogger like this are beyond opinion to me. Do you really except this type of threat as opinion? I don't, again, my 11 yr old should be kept out of this disagreement. He has no valid opinion. I'm sad to think you would defend such a threatening message directed at future WVHS students, or any child for that matter.

See, now I read it different from everyone. I see the poster not as a parent, but some smarmy HSer who was having fun riling the grown ups. This is exactly why I don't read Potluck. It sucks!

You have all gone off the deep end. Seriously. Where did I defend the frickin post? I only argued it was an opinion, not a threat. Take a pill. Reread the post.

Sushi,
Here's the partial post that I was troubled with:
"Your kids are going to be hated by other students when they go to Waubonsie because of your actions. There is going to be a huge price to pay by your kids as the Waubomsie students know how much you detest the thought of your kids going to school with the "lower class" people from Waubonsie. Your response was:
I didn't see that as a threat as much as an opinion of the writer. I do think this will have repercussions for our kids; hopefully shortlived. There is no way, as many on this board have stated, that the kids don't know what's going on. Prejudice of any kind begins at home, whether its against a group, a race, a school, whatever.
]I disagree with you that accepting this type of threat against children as an "opinion of the writer".
Of course it as an opinion of the writer. That is why I called it out.
The writer is WRONG to target children.
Do you think it's fair to blame the children (my 11 year old specifically) for the opinions of parents in this discussion.
Do you think that any child is fair game for the "repercussions" that will occur because of this situation? Shouldn't we ALL be fighting against (not defending) that happening to ANY child regardless of where they live?

Maybe the same one who 'borrows' a friend's dad's laptop and changes posts on a message board. kids these days...

It seems to me that the ones who desperately wanted OUT of WVHS were the orange shirt wearing Brookdale folks. And now these same folks sit on their perch and claim folks in TG and WE don't want to attend WVHS. What hypocrits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone was asking me recently why I dislike NSFOC-Fraud so much. It is for this very reason. The hypocricy is mind boggling. the fact they have been able to pull this sham and self righteous BS off for this long amazes me. If anyone is wondering why I am being less of a centrist. This is one of the primary reasons. I'm curious why you post on the other blog and your tune is much different over there (at least in the past it was).
