It is with heartfelt appreciation to the leaders of Midwest Generation that we are able to confirm that Midwest Generation has terminated negotiations with District 204 and will not be proceeding with the sale of this property for the purpose of hosting a school location.
As many of us have communicated from the start, this land was and is not appropriate to be used a a site for a school.
As we move forward, hopefully we can come together as a District and start rowing our oars in the same direction.
Best regards,

You can confirm with the District...It is real and it is public. I also assume that this was the reason for Dr. Daeschner's communication yesterday.
This has been a horrible experience, but it is time to start to heal. Hopefully, the District will reach out to BB and start to negotiate a reasonable price for the BB land that will allow for building the third school as soon as possible.

I'm more than willing to help start a dialog and I'll even volunteer to get dressed in a Jester outfit and go in there and grovel at their feet if I have to. I always loved the line from Wargames.. "Damnit, I'd p!ss on a spark plug if it'd do any good..."

IMO, we still are going to go through the ringer on tying to figure out how to build it on AME alone. Just my opinion though. Edit - I will add the obligatory, "If is true" comment. Although, I have heard the rumor enough today and yesterday its like a howl across the district.

I don't think it's possible, Webe. Unless, as we said weeks ago, the Rev with his big check sold us more of the Church property.
Details, please!

Although, I have heard the rumor enough today and yesterday its like a howl across the district. They were very clever about the cost of each property. They never revealed what MW GEN was getting and what AME was getting. Consolidated price was $191K per acre. Rumor was that AME was getting $300-ish and MWGEN was $100-ish. I doubt AME would take $100/acre for the remaining acres. So if we have to pay $300 for all 80 acres... that's $24 M for land plus $10 - $20 mil for BB fees and damages. But like you said, not having a good handle on the finances hasn't stopped them in the past.
