I actually do not care what board you post. When you write personal attacks...hit lists...directions to people houses.. none of us have the right to complain when it is published outside of your comfort zone.
Just an FYI...came from the TG clubhouse and the parking lot is overflowing--which easily holds over 100-120 cars (cars parked on the streets). I am really proud of those who refuse to be intimidated by the bully tactics of a few.
Regardless of what side you are on, my mpression of this site is that all positions are welcome (sometimes we all get a little heated and we should remember that most of us are reasonable and good people who just may have a difference of opinion on this topic (a topic that should not solely define who were are).
Sleepless, believe it or not, I have enjoyed some of your posts (the ones that do not attack individuals because of their beliefs). I hope that you find your way back...

Best regards Just to be clear, if you re-read my post you will understand that I am not suggesting that you shouldn't bring anything from another board over here (unless it's from the Sun Blog  ). What I am trying to say is that if you would like to call someone out on another board, do it there first. Give them the courtesy of being able to reply. Some of those members don't post here anymore. Some don't even read here anymore. How is someone to address your comment if they don't even know about it? Or maybe that's the point. |

I have seen posts on this board stating they have tried to get on the green board, but could not so posted the comment on this board.
If you are going to make statements on either board you should be able to back them up.
The divide in the boards is just an example of how divided this district is. We all have one thing in common, we care about our kids and their education. We just have different views on how to accomplish this.
Sashimi, saw all the cars at the meeting. How did it go?

Sorry I opened the can of worms. I won't bring anything over from the the green board again, but the person I brought over writes on both. I feel if you write on both (boards), both should be about the same. Granted different topics on the boards make this imposible sometimes.
I would like Sleepless to still stay here, we can agree to disagree on some/a lot of the issues.

Shucks! For a newbie like me, its rough to see someone like Sleepless leave a board...
I do agree with her point - a post from another board lacks the context of the thread it is in. Best to respond in the same forum.
I guess I'm somewhat a kindred soul to Sleepless... no fan of NSFOC, but neither do I think the SB is anywhere near the sharpest set of tools in the shed. But, to borrow a quote from Robert Hanlon (also recently used in the Naperville Potluck):
"Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity" - Hanlon's Razor.
Both the NSFOC and SB seem to be doing the best they can with what they got to be happy. There are genuinely idealistic and noble stances from some on both sides, as there are a slew of self-serving vested interests on both sides too. I also don't believe either realized/s the consequences of their actions. Chalk it down to human nature, I suppose. Everyone's opinion is sacred so I'd rather focus on the facts rather than personalities. The future is of far more interest to me than the past.
(BTW, thanks to D204mom and napermom for pointing me to the Brodie lawsuit - it was very illuminating!)
So I hope to debate matters of substance in this forum, and Sleepless, hope you don't stop posting - I could use some company in presenting a different perspective ;^)

I'm not on a witch hunt! Am I angry at the elected officials for getting us into the situation we are in (my opinion)? YES! I don't feel comfortable placing blame on any particular private citizen for the actions of a group. ETA: I guess I'm a little sensitive after hearing about the "hit list". I am talking about this whole board, not you macy. Don't worry guys. You got what you wanted. I'm out of here. I was the one person who almost was swinging your way as I have doubts about the school board. Too bad, you just lost a conversion. BTW: It gets very boring on here when there is only one side posting. But I guess you like to hear yourselves say the same thing over and over again. Well, now you can talk amoungst yourselves. Have fun!  Sleepless, I hope you are still reading this board, but you should reconsider and start posting again.....you are needed here...I hope that we start hearing from you again real soon.... |

Was there any press coverage of the event? No there was, to my knowledge, no press coverage. It was a packed house though. Not all TG residents, many new faces in the crowd. |
