As a side note I took the advice of momind204 and drove by the site on Friday. I saw a piece of heavy equipment traversing the property east to west but did not see any sign of a Kinder-Morgan representative. you'll be lucky if Bob the Builder oversees this

I read the green board and saw pics from Gatormom....did not see pics of the flooding. I am so sorry that some residents had to deal with that. Not my idea of a Mothers Day gift. Wonder what else is coming our way. This project just got underway. But we operate with no backup plans so I have no high expections.

(not) -- but then they are only May Watts kids - so who gives a d**n Out for my morning walk ran into yet another whose house now up for sale... headed to 203 with their 8th grader and 6th & 4th grader, not interested in MV @ AME. Said the same thing, if WV - then no issue at all. I was going to tell her to sit down and shut up - but she had tears in her eyes so I decided not to. - she could write our leadership for that response.

It had caterpillar tracks and was red I believe. ? Sorry. I guess I should have taken a picture. I'll bring my camera next time. Also, if there is more flooding I would suggest taking pictures - especially if your home was affected.

also..Save off some screen shots of google earth / maps and microsoft virtual earth showing the trees/brush / grading. Oh, this is just classic from green: "Blame it on nFUD.....remember they "won" by getting MWGEN to back out.....Had they not done that that area would have remained untouched, until AME was ready to build." Oh, that's smart.. and I should blame the poor sap who gets in front of my bullet.. had they not done so, they would not be shot. Someone in the construction firm did not think to go over and account for storm water runoff in the rainy season. *THAT* is who is to blame. What else will they be neglecting? According to the April 14th meeting minutes: It was moved by Ms. Clark and seconded by Mr. Glawe that the Board of Education approve the purchase of 84.1 acres of land from St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church for $225,000.00 per acre, for Metea Valley High School, as presented and discussed in Executive Session. The president declared the motion passed on a roll call vote with the following board members responding aye: Ms. Clark, Mr. Glawe, Mr. Metzger, Ms. Tyle, Mr. Bradshaw, and Mr. Stephens. Ms. Vickers voted nay. Technically, that is who is to blame.

Arch speaking of that, why did Chris Vickers want the minutes to reflect that she abstained from the vote instead of voting NAY? What difference does it make from a procedural standpoint?

She rescinded her Jan 22 AYE vote for MWGEN/AME. Only she knows her true intentions, but if it were me, I would not want my name associated with any blanket approval of either pieces of property.

What difference does it make from a procedural standpoint? so we are accurate: CV abstained from approving the exec session and regular minutes at the 4/21/08 special meeting. She did not change her vote to an abstain from the 4/14 meeting. The nay vote is properly reflected.

I heard that a few folks called concerned about the flooding and they were told to sit down and shut up. Dr. Daeschner was quoted as saying that he could not believe the entitlement demonstrated by this neighborhood in believing that they should have basements free from flooding..."I mean, Goodnight". The City proposed building a retention wall and a drainage system, but the District's site drawings showed that they now plan on building a big fence around the Cambridge Chase neighborhood. Reporting on the damage, Curt Bradshaw said that he "had never seen anything like it", but he later admitted that he had not actually visited the site. After being asked about the damage, Ms. Tyle explained that the District "did not have time" to construct a drainage system. In addition, she reported that such flooding was normal in that the EOLA purchase"was a cash sale". The leaders of the AMES church responded to the scene quickly, offering to sacrifice towels for the good of the children of Cambridge Chase for only $500 each. Dr. Daeschner quickly rushed the leaders behind closed doors and settled on $600 per towel. This gave me a good laugh and then a cry, because this is the state of our district.

The Macom land took the water just fine And Mandalay Bay is living up to its name... ;D LOL! And to think the Macom land was around $7.5 less expensive than the AME site. It makes me ill just thinking of ways district 204 could have spent $7.5 million dollars. Oh well, it's just money.

I do have to say though...I'm impressed with the City's efforts to clean things up. They had a truck out at 9 a.m. on Mother's Day, a truck dumping a load of gravel at 1 p.m. the same day, and today, they had a crew shoveling up all the branches, rubble and other flotsam and jetsam that accumulated. This afternoon, there was a street sweeper out to clean up the road. And aside from the big dump of rocks at the end of the dead end street, it's back to (relatively) normal.
So kudos, City of Lights!
