I Have to ask the stupid question:
Why is the administration holding this open house? Are we now in the business of helping realtors ? Further, since the school won't be open until at least 2009 isn't this a little early to help realtors? Aren't the boundaries already settled? I could go on.
I hope someone will attend and let us know what information was given to the realtors.

I wondered the same thing AND I wonder why don't they have informational tours of NVHS for realtors? hmmm.(Or maybe they have and I simply have not heard about them. Interested if anyone knows. I only recall the recent WVHS realtor tour within the last year. ) I can understand holding an info meeting about MVHS since it is in the development phase and future residents may have questions which can then be answered more accurately by realtors, but why a tour and info on WVHS and not NVHS? In my opinion, it almost paints a picture that WVHS and MVHS have to be "sold" whereas NVHS does not. If they are to hold these types of informational meetings for realtors it should educate the realtors about our entire district (3 high schools) and what it has to offer . This type of marketing only serves to engrain any negative perceptions of WVHS and future potential negatives of MVHS by appearing to have to "sell" them. ETA: btw, if they HAVE had recent realtor tours and informational meetings for realtors for NVHS, then I refer to a quote from Rosanna Rosanna Danna and say.... "nevermind".

This type of marketing only serves to engrain any negative perceptions of WVHS and future potential negatives of MVHS by appearing to have to "sell" them. Bingo. I was not here when NV opened, however, I remember Michelle Davis speaking during one of the candidate forums. She implied that Neuqua sold itself - they couldn't write contracts fast enough. The newspaper articles and publicity surrounding MV has been unfavorable. Hence the need to "sell" the shiny new school. Maybe they should call KB in to point at the mascott as proof that everything is OK and ready to go. The Naperville Sun fell for that one hook line and sinker.

This person is aware of some of the goings on - listening to me complain - so will not be blinded sales pitch will likely consist of see the shiny new school -- pay no attention to the fact that it is in an area remote from 1/2 it's intended population pay no attention to the fact it is west of the tracks that are about to get a lot busier bus rides - 30 minutes from everywhere - regardless of distance - yeah right I really want to see how they plan to market this as a positive for my neighborhood - the commute to MS and now the even worse commute to HS

The realtors have a big inventory of houses to sell. The district is looking at property taxes declining due to lower appraised values and lower sales prices of homes. That means less revenue for the district. The more they can do to pump up this scenario the better it is for them. So it costs them a can of coffee and a couple of boxes of Krispy Kremes. What the heck.

I don't buy the 'questions about new boundaries'. They are in black and white on the website. Most realtors simply refer their clients to the District websites as they are not supposed to give their opinions on schools, right? Not trying to be argumentative, but I think that the district should hold realtor open houses to discuss the virtues of all 3 schools and to inform realtors how they can direct their clients to additional resources. This is a 'sales' tactic IMO. A PR move. eta: ok this really bugs me , I admit it....What about realtors who have questions on how things change in the south? Afterall a couple of LARGE subdivisions that I am sure they sell houses in are changing boundaries to a new school to...(from NV to WV). Why aren't they having an information meeting to address that ?

I understand that for MV, but why did they have a breakfast/tour for realtors for WVHS as well? curious why they did for WV and not for NV. What is your take on that? just being honest, my guess is they don't feel they have to 'sell' NV. Let's face it, talk to realtors in the area, 204 vs 203 has been what they have had to 'sell' in the past. And lately 204 has done nothing to help that situation, just the opposite. Like I said, I can't wait to see how they sell these boundaries with 1/2 the population traveling that far to school. Our new PR guy will be earning his wages here forward.

I had a guess what it would be about. maybe we should just let the event happen and get a report from the good doctor.

Realtors read the local papers. well if it is in the papers, it must be true. No realtor would ever have a mind of their own? Some of those realtors live in areas that got screwed - they didn't need to read the papers. Others have made a few bucks on those leaving certain areas for 203 right next door - and have had to listen to why those people were moving. Many people have lived it, they don't need the Sun or the Herald to understand what has gone on.
