So you're going to taint the votes? Please answer my question, if the number of no votes rises by 5,000 over the weekend, will you agree that the whole poll is meaningless, readily tampered with, and no conclusions can be drawn from it? Are you going to taint the votes? Why would the number rise by 5000 no votes over the weekend? It seems you failed to answer my question.

Copper is down from Nov when HC was speaking from $3.30 to $2.64. www.metalprices.com/Google shows nothing for current concrete prices. LOL! I'm impressed! Let's hope we can restore the copper wiring that we eliminated from Metea (according to what I've heard)! I've also heard, copper is not all that! But, I have No idea WHAT THAT MEANS!!! If only we had a google crystal ball that would tell us where all these costs would be when we finally begin construction.

You can't eliminate copper wiring or plumbing. The school would never pass code.

jenrik, those of us from Aurora have to realize that the few "snobs" we have encountered in the past are not the majority. Unfortunately, they are usually the loudest. This district needs to move past that junk. Macom is trying to appeal to those snobs and in the process is opening old wounds. This whole issue is about selling homes, plain and simple. A builder decided at one point to sell a high school (Nequa) and not the homes and now is suffering because of that. I'm not a snob and no one is "appealing" to me. And I'm obviously not alone. This is the kind of language that divides our district and quite frankly I'm tired of it. I just have never believed that BB was the "only" place to build the school. I don't think the district should delay the construction of the school and pay more for BB if alternatives are available. Plain and simple. And to do so makes me wonder what the motivations are.

I'm married to someone who gets that completely though- but they are asleep at the moment! I must remember the hc/district discussion incorrectly. I thought he stated the wiring could come in at a more cost effective way if we changed out from copper. Swear I heard it really!!! Again, I could be wrong in terms of what materials were being discussed. In broader terms, it was that the cost of building the school was escalating due to the time issue. He was very frank about it. I have not to this date heard that we are in a safer place in terms of construction of the building due to a slowdown. I hope you are right. I'd hate for something from the actual building to be eliminated due to higher than anticipated land cost.

I said the builder was trying to appeal to the few snobs who looked down their noses at Waubonsie. Ask the builder why he hasn't removed Neuqua as the HS for his homes from his web site.

It certainly does matter what the results are. You just don't want it to matter. And why would people "all over the state" care? They don't. Saying the results are surely tainted, etc. is all just "spin". Lacy, if the number of No votes increased by, say 5,000 over the weekend, would you agree it was tainted? I just want to know the cutoff before I begin. I wanted to re-qoute this where you said "I just want to know the cutoff before I begin" What did you mean by that?

Perhaps I misunderstood - my apologies. What I'm saying is that many people are interested in looking at alternative sites who are not "snobs".

Agree... Agree... We all need to move past all that at this point. If there is an alternate site to build a 3rd school at a much more fiscally beneficial price and timely way may it be the Macom site or an alternate location, what would the argument be from anyone in the district??? Is it beneficial to bring up the WVHS vs. NVHS argument in any way??? If it is, please tell me why... I don't see the benefit to anyone.

Agreed Macy (love your name!) I actually took my name from Lacy Underall (was that it? - from Caddy Shack). LOL!!!!!
This whole WVHS/NVHS thing doesn't have anything to do with this issue. I think it's a red herring. Meant to stir up lots of you know what so we don't focus on the real issues.

Actually, IMO, it does. The issue is, this builder has tried to sell homes with Neuqua and then lost that. The housing market has slumped and now, in an effort to save his "you know what" he blames Waubonsie as the problem. And on top of it all, we are expected to believe that his offer of no savings whatsoever to the district and no savings in time will bring the district together as one big, happy family. Yes it is all about WV/NV in this builder's eyes.

Gosh I wish "Hirumwurf" would post something. I'm thinking with a name like that, they'd really liven things up.
Sorry, I'll stay on topic.
