If that's not what the SB anticipated (and only what they offered), then they lied to us. Plain and simple. That's a pretty strong accusation. From what we've discussed here it seemed reasonable to expect the price would come in somewhere in between. I'm betting even the BB lawyers were surprised by such a high verdict. (sorry this appears to be off topic) One would need to do nothing more but go back to old threads to read what SB members and people on this message board said about the likelihood of the price coming in higher. Yes, they said there was some wiggle room - but they considered it outlandish to think the price could come in where it did. Well, it's $17,250,000 more than what they offered. Where is Plan B?

Why bother.
Everyone is set that the SB is going with BB.
They are just waiting for the deadline before they act.

They will not share them with the public.
They didn't before. What makes you think they will now.

Now you're just trying to pick a fight......... yeah... it's been going on for a few days now. spitting matches don't solve problems. Obtaining land and starting to build a HS do. It's already a late start. Why make it later?

Come on- no one is saying they are liars however, they had BIG problems the first go around with BB so why think the second would be any different? They put all their money on BB period.

So making them the "bad guys" and blaming them for overspending on BB will never fly with me.

Again, they offered roughly 105,000/acre the first time and settled for 257,500/acre for the 25 acres. They paid DOUBLE what their original offer was. This should not have been a surprise to them after the first go-around.

I may think they were overly confident and should now present to the public the options they stated they had all along. Many people questioned what we could/would do if the BB land came in too high. The answer was we have other options. I would never have thought that the options (B,C,D) would be to just "bite the bullet" and pay a "ludacrious" amount for land.

Obtaining land and starting to build a HS do. It's already a late start. Why make it later? ?? It was a reply based on what was being replied to. I'll parse it more clearly: Obtaining a land and starting to build a HS do (solve problems). I was agreeing with you, spitting doesn't, so *WE* should stop it.

They will not share them with the public. They didn't before. What makes you think they will now. Maybe a strong outcry from the residents questioning why we are where we are at today, at what other options we have.

Yes, they did: "If that's not what the SB anticipated (and only what they offered), then they lied to us. Plain and simple." Something was clearly wrong with their analysis then - because they were supremely confident but way, way wrong. I'm just exploring all options for the situation we're in. It's gotta be something. You were the one that brought up language such as "offered vs. anticipated". So it begged the question if they were ever completely truthful with the voters. And I think that's a valid question.
