Great- So they make this mess and then just walk away? Sounds so familiar with the old administration all leaving many years ago to clean up the mess. Then Howie doesn't see this project through? Where are these people now? Oh yea - Super in Florida. Leaving us to foot the bill for all their mistakes! That's how the position works. Like it or not. What sort of 'accountability' are you looking for? Do you wish to send them an invoice or something?

Leaving us to foot the bill for all their mistakes! unbelievable - that was my opinion that they could walk away and I would understand -- have You even run ? Will YOU run in 2009 ? By April 2009 - the land will be decided, the school will be being built - and as one ofhte fastest growing districts for a lot of the last 10 - 15 years, we have a solid attaining school district. If that's a mess, there areplenty of school districts that would swapplaces with us.

I put the blame on the previous administrators. OK a single admin....HC. IMHO he was the main player in this, and he is gone now.. I'd like to let you know how I really feel about him, but that might melt a few monitors Maybe we should just take the overage from his pension account.

So you want the district to pay millions more than anticipated because you are happy with the boundaries. And you don't want the district to explore other options that could save millions because you might not be happy with the boundaries? Just trying to understand... lacy, it is not an emotional reason of being "happy with the boundaries". From an objective standpoint, based on community decided standards for HS boundaries of geography preference with strong socioeconomic-factor considerations, BB boundaries are superior and therefore worth some premium. Also, its not that we make emotional decision not to go through the boundary process again "because it was nasty and exhausting". The ultimate reason to preferrably not go through this with another site, is because the result will be inferior long-term to what was worked out for BB. Anybody is welcome to try and disprove the district-wide superior/inferior assessment that many of us have made. That is what good discussion in made of.

I was speaking to someone who mentioned the Islamic Center of Naperville having plans for over 4 years to buy land @ 248th and 95th street and build a new 10+ acre site. Is this north of the land Macom has or actually part of it, and by selling the land to the district leaves no extra land to sell to the center for their planned purchase?
I'm just curious, because more and more things seem to be claiming to be moving to, buying land at or being right nearby the 248th and 95th intersection and I[m trying to piece together how that will all look longterm.
Anyone have any insight on that one?
