with all due respect, mf, YOU find it unacceptable....more room for what,,,?? THEY EVEN CLAIM THAT THEY ARE NOT MISERABLE!! Are you listening to your children?? I just asked my 8th grader, in completely unprompted fashion. "Do you find your MS crowded." exact quote reply: "No, , its ok. But it is more crowded than last year." harry, if you wanted an answer from a current student that sums up the problem....i think my daughter clearly expressed it for you. PS anectodal commentary, she eats lunch at 10 am...I wonder what could explain that?

That doesn't state "I"M MISERABLE, I CAN'T LEARN She was clearly making an observation....what more did she say that made you think that this is a NEGATIVE instead of an observation?? And anecdotally, she doesn't care that she eats lunch @ 10 a.m., you do... And these reasons are why we are paying $124.million dollars for a 3rd hs and paying the balance of future referendums until the year 2024!!! I remain...... When will we hear from/see video from reporters showing the horrible situations in dist 204?? I can't wait for Jesse Jackson to see/read any article regarding the above.

Harry, the referendum passed. The district has expressed that they are continuing on and will build Metea Valley. The only question remains is where.
You can stomp and say no all you want and then claim there is no overcrowding but it won't help. MV will be built.

Like I said in my original post; it appears we all have our own perception of what 'overcrowded' is and what is acceptable or not. The teams my kids are on have classrooms set up in their 'family room' areas; I find that unacceptable. They need more room. Are they miserable, NO. But they need more room. I'm guessing that the majority of folks feel that same way and that is why the referendum was passed. We could really use that 7th middle school to make middle school kids' experience even better! with all due respect, mf, YOU find it unacceptable....more room for what,,,?? THEY EVEN CLAIM THAT THEY ARE NOT MISERABLE!! Are you listening to your children?? I am clearly not following your line of reasoning...and I repeat,,, are you miserable because you live in Dist 204 and pay substantial taxes and your kids should not 'have to put up w/this because you live in dist 204? ? Or do you have conclusive evidence that your kids are not learning in their classrooms, wherever they may be??? The majority of the people voted yes because they were threatened with split shifts and trailers. Not only would that have NEVER happened but neither has the enrollment projection numbers drummed up by the district materialized. Secondarily, other folks believe that a 3rd hs will guarantee that their son plays lst string instead of 2nd....like it will make a difference in scholarships... Whew,,, All of us need to look in the mirror please do not refer to me as 'mf' ;D

Sorry, but I really don't think many people are interested in debating the referendum any more. And, it's ridiculous to infer that "horrible situations" are needed before action is taken. However, it actually might approach horrible if 204 is trying to stuff 1000+ more kids into NV and WV in 3-4 years.

You are right because the right thing to do is not always the easiest. Some people think that throwing money at a situation is the best thing to do, when in fact, working thru the details pays off. Why would you want to stuff 1000+ kids into NV and WV?? Portables are available for the bubble. Also, why would you pay for a 3000 seat HS when you only need to accommodate 1000+ Its like buying an Escalade when you need a VW Bug....cause it is easier??? Is it like buying a 4 bedroom house when you have one or none kids? We need to be real about this situation.. I don't think most have the stamina to look at this dilemna with clarity.

Again, the next gain is ~2000 seats at the HS level, with the other ~1000 seats for MS - they are alleviating crowding at both the HS AND MS levels. This fact has been stated several times over the last few days.

Even still one of the 'acy's (lacy or macy) has pointed out that there is NOT any more of an overcrowd in any year from the 6 day enrollment figures that is more than 1000+ students... riddle me that then ...on building a 3000 seat hs

So, one has to wait until they are "miserable" before any preventative action can take place?
Take that approach to a different part of life and people can't go to a hospital until they are on their last breath of life.
Sounds pretty silly, doesn't it?

If it's only a bubble, and we really only need 1000 extra, why not just write them vouchers (write a check for the $9K we WOULD have spent on them), let them be someone else's problem and be done with it for that 'bubble period' ? From one accounting standpoint, it can be looked at as being no cost to the district. Isn't that cheaper than your 'portable' idea? Fiscal Responsibility, FTW!

Could someone please provide the expected capacity at all 3 high schools (including a breakdown for freshman) as well as capacity at the middle school level after the completion of MVHS and conversion of WVHS Gold Campus. I would be interested in comparing the expected capacity to the current enrollment.
