Bob $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ yep, and if they couldn't build the school - then they'd be wasting their $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but if they can build it, yes they'd make $$$$$$ I guess BB stands to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Not if we don't buy BB which is fine by me (if it is cheaper)

lol, if 700 people showed up they'd have a separate informational workshop on the matter, get full reports on both properties, then make a decision. Yet, they have done a masterful job of not discussing the matter, therefore letting the time run out and then saying they do not have enough time. Yet, again, I would trust that if MACOM believes a a school can go there, it can. If they have all the tests performed, then they know it can work. Or why would they waste their time. Because Lehman wants to cash in on the situation as quickly as possible. 1) sell land that would be difficult to sell houses on, given the market downturn AND given Peterson tagged as going to terrible WV; and 2) improve sales at Ashwood by getting Peterson out of terrible WV. Would anyone that has, does, or will go to WV want Lehman to benefit from this (other than maybe Ashwood)? I say give BB the $, which goes to charity.

If you meant Macy, Macy and I corrrespond through PMs all the time, I have no interest in finding out who she/he is. Macy wants what is best for her family and I repsect that. C) why are answering a question directed to Macy?

Since we know 50 people are showing up, the SB would be absurd not to address them and make them wait. We need to go and TELL them we will not wait! I'm hoping that if at least 50 people are show up, the SB would be absurd not to address them and make them wait. We need to go and TELL them we will not wait! macy, were you quoting wvhsmomcares? I didn't see the quote and your comment was imbeded. Huh, you guys sure think alike! momof3 I wasn't quothing wvhsmomcares, just plagarizing I guess since I agreed with the statement. Should have quoted. Some assume here 700 will show up. I think more like wvhsmomcares that if at least 50 (more would be okay) show up, it would show the SB people would like to comment. Should have quoted. Sorry wvhsmomcares, stole your words.

Sounds like you don't want people to go. Why? macy pointed out that Paul Lehman will be there to address the crowd - the sb will be in executive session and unavailable - that's fine - it's just that people shouldn't go expecting to address the sb, unless they want to stay there later than a tribe rally in the 11th. If you want to go listen to Paul, great, I'm not stopping anyone. Sounds like a great photo op & easy news story for the local "reporters". Gee, I hope they provide accurate & complete information in their story - oh wait, why would they start now?

If there is a viable alternative for Metea to be built on his land, it shouldn't be considered cuz some don't like him? Seriously, not that I don't empathize, but a potential $20 million dollar difference would make me get over any bitterness that I had towards someone.

Due Diligence was done to the board's satisfaction the first time. I have the feeling based on previous posting history that you will feel that there is no amount of due diligence that could ever be 'satisfactory' to select BB. There is also this thing called time. Do you honestly feel that enough 'due diligence' can be complete by the 26th (or whatever date is the end-date to buy it) for them to say Yes, BB really is the right place and we can do it within budget. ?? Honestly answer that one. How much due diligence should be conducted before they spend $20 million more than they might have to in your opinion? Or is money no object, because it's BB or bust for you? It was $17M before, and now we're up to $20M - you are making assumptions here. Why don't you wait to here the details before constantly repeating your assumptions as if they are facts?

The Naperville Sun has done a fabulous job of neutrally reporting this issue. Both papers have missed the boat as far as I'm concerned. Many, many interested residents with opinions all over the place, but, soft reporting. In my opinion, at least the Herald is making an attempt to stay on to of the situation. Both need to pay more attention and give us some news in my opinion. The sun is totally throwing softballs out.

I took the liberty of transfering a post from another thread because it was very well said by justvote:
..... If a quality school can be built for the agreed upon price ($124MM) it makes absolutely no difference what percentage of the cost is land and what percentage of the cost is building.
The voters have spoken. The only ones who now want a "do-over" are those who have never wanted a third high school or those didn't like the boundaries.
At the end of the day, nothing has changed that would warrant a "do-over" UNLESS the product in question cannot be delivered at the agreed upon price. End of story.

Funny how some people have questioned the financial backing, motivations & gains that led to getting the referendum passed, the selection of the BB property, or the companies involved in the design/construction of MV. Anyone that's done that and is willing to forgive Leman's BS for whatever the "savings" might be (and it ain't gonna be $20M) would be talking out of 2 sides of their mouth.
