The minute the 05 ref failed, I knew we would build it eventually...but for more money $$$. We've all done it in our lives, wasted money to save money. And no all the balme does not fall to NO voters. The district admin, SB and people like me, YES voters who just ASSumed we'd win, all share the blame. Interesting about the quick take, it would have saved us money as well, oh well many fought that too because they thought it would cost us too much. ** Stop putting up roadblocks in hopes to "save money" people, you're costing us too much. Learn from the past. Move one direction..forward. ** Some, like Macom and Ashwood, had a different agenda. I completely agree. My observation in this district thus far has been that the very people who have set up the hurdles for the school board/district are the ones criticizing them for stumbling over them. Time will tell and hopefully the school district moves on and builds this school as quickly as possible within the constraints of the $124M referendum which was passed.

Today, I'd offer Macom $90K/acre But you'd happily pay $563,000 per acre for BB. That kind of logic escapes me. I am hopeful that the SB is able to set aside emotions and do what is best for the kids and the taxpayers.

Hence, the price difference. He can take it or leave it. Why don't you live next to an oil refinery? It's cheaper.

You mean in your opinion the lands are not equal. What's going in on that Preit land anyway? I've heard rumors it's a Super Walmart. Doesn't seem like a great place for a high school.

And I don't see how stating that the cost of building Metea has gone up because of the failed referendum is pointing fingers at anybody. Even if some chose not to believe his numbers, which I am sure he made up , we are all aware of the rising costs in construction over the past few years. I am with you rew. Lets move forward. This is costing us money. I say move forward carefully and thoughtfully. If another site saves us millions, then change the location. $563,000 an acre is too expensive IMO. The voters were told $250K an acre and there was a little overage available. To spend double is not what was presented to the voters. the voters were presented $124M also - lets not ignore that figure. what cost us money was not moving on this earlier

Does anyone believe that we would of received money back from the district if quick take went through. I am with wvhsparent, time for MM2 to go. This "little lady" agrees. fortunately - per the last election - the majority of people do NOT agree with you

Is the well endless ? I guess just like they can't build a school in less than 2 years ? Whatever goes there will be as far away from the school as Jewel and Dominicks are to NV -- so what's the issue here ?

PREIT does not build Super Walmarts, they build lifestyle malls. Oh wait, this relates back to the rumor that PREIT flipped their property. Say it enough times and people will believe it. That is the danger of spreading rumors.

Maybe they should build some of these items on the MACOM land - or maybe that's what some are afraid of -- that land will be firesaled to whomever ?

Walmart is not Starbucks. They don't put them that close together. They have ample land at 59/Ogden right up the road to convert to a 'super' walmart. I also heard rumors that people are prejudice to people they believe will be certain store clientèle, but that's just rumors, eh?

A Super Wal-Mart is better than a Tire Factory, which was the Gossip du Jour last week. Rumors are supposed to get crazier, not better. We can't even get rumor-mongering right! Wait, and how is it the SB's fault? eta - and I'm waiting for someone to post how 203 gets rumor-mongering 'right'!
