It's too bad more of the unaffected areas couldn't rally behind the others. I think an email from someone at Builta who has no "agenda" professing sympathy for Watts or Owen would have more impact than someone from the affected area complaining. Then MM couldn't make that statement he made. From what I heard there was districtwide support for relief to Owen, and to a lesser degree, Watts (sorry doc). Well good. Hopefully this tells the board that distance is still a concern for folks around here, regardless of where you live. Maybe they will address those areas with horrible commutes. I sure hope so.

That does not surprise -- I am not sure many understand exactly where we are in the district and what our commute will be -- we are a quiet area that flies under the radar all the time. I also am sure most people in say Builta ( not to pick on them at all)- would have no idea how far we already go for Middle school) - We are a quiet area that just goes about it's biz -- has extremely active parents in the schools and very good test scores -- but get's dumped on boundary wise - who knows why. I and others here may be sick of it - but we have no voice - so if they ever open a 4th damn school in this area- you can pencil us in to attend - regardless of where it is placed....

This is a disturbing sentence to start the article... kind of sets a tone. My wife said she heard on the radio this morning that only 1 in 3 is in favor. This made the radio? Kewl...What station? WSCW the Screw it's a new 204 only station

NO, the MAJORITY are either uninforned yet - or indifferent because they are not involved in change -- I tell you what, let's move your area to WV or MV tonight and then tell me how the majority are just fine with everything -- because the majority of voters in your area or any other will not come out either. You're right doc. They don't even have a clue that certain subdivisions have plans to ship someone off here so they can fit in there. They are living in their own happy little dream world and think they are safe. That is why the board will probably just vote. If they do major tweaking, they really have to open it up for feedback again. Then you get different subdivisions on the warpath. It's a cycle that is never going to end. You will always have unhappy people whenever you move someone away from their home. They can tweak to a fair, across the board criteria: No area travels to the farthest high school. Everyone can verify it, and everyone gets the criteria applied and no one can dispute it. Every other criteria smells of favoritism whether it is intended or not. They have a plan with plenty of wiggle room to make the above happen.

Then the answer is : DO NOT put the school where you have to majorly move 1/2 of it's population across the district - should be a clue it's not the right location.

WSCW the Screw it's a new 204 only station What a perfect name for the station. The Screw. I think it was a joke . It's very upsetting when I hear they may only tweak. This is a very messed up boundary scenario with multiple ES and MS splits and schools being sent crazy distances. It needs more than just a tweak.

So you are supporting the "horrible commute" for the Fry community as well? Or would that mess up your agenda?

I was adding to the joke. I thought it was very funny. I need a little laugh right now. I have never in my life been so angry. The district is giving us all the big screw.

Two observations -
- sounds like Alka can't approve the current proposal fast enough - wonder if she will start off the meeting with a motion to approve?
- how sad that John Stephens commented that the most professional proposal he's seen is from a resident. I guess we can't expect professionalism from our $200K+/year super? Pathetic.

I hope the 21 pages actually goes into showing just and fairness to ALL areas for whatever criteria there is and no cherry picking or exceptions.

As you stated many times, garbage in garbage out. I think that is the SB were to explain any one route time, it would help. Pick one, any one and explain to me how they or Laidlaw or anyone else who has their hands in this, calculated the number ?

can't wait for tonight - hope it's over. I hope it over as well. However, I would like some simple tweaks. I do not think that is too much to ask for. I know I am a broken record with the Ashwood Seven. Maybe a youtube video of a clown car driving around our subdivision picking up children for Still.

What I "know", Sushi, is that is is over 6 miles from Fry to WVHS the way the buses and new drivers will go. And unless they fix some of the obvious inequities it's not over. You can call us whatever names you want to - it won't matter.
