Where's beef when you need him? I think this is when he's supposed to come in with the map to WV that has the busses taking normantown road, which cuts the commute down to 3 miles. I feel like we've been down this road before...

Lacy. I'm sure you will again accuse me of having a personal agenda with regards to you. You clearly don't like me and that's fine. Tall Grass has many issues regarding the boundary, and for that I am sad for you guys. It's just I can't figure out what is worse for you. Is it the bridge, is it the distance, is it the splits? You have every right to be pissed. The reason I may come across as having an agenda against you is because it is my opinion that not all of your issues will be fixed tonight. I hope some of them are but I feel they will not all be fixed.
Has anyone from Fry ever done the commute to WVHS? We all talk about how horrible it is and then everyone sends all of their mapquest results. I feel for Fry so, like Doc and momof156graders, I got in my car and drove yesterday to experience first hand what you are complaining about. I drove at 4:00 pm (on a Monday during the start of rush hour) from WVHS parking lot to the intersection of Tall Grass Dr. and 104th. Yes, I went way past the Fry school. I was at that intersection in 14 minutes. I took Ogden to 75th Street and then turned south at Rt. 59 and then right again on 95th Street. No shortcuts. About 2 out of every 3 traffic lights I hit were red. So the bus makes it to your subdivision in 14 minutes and spends another 10 driving around dropping off kids. I'm sorry, but I don't see that as a commute anywhere near what Owen and Watts will be tolerating. So, I guess I can sympathize with you on the bridge and the middle school split. But based on my own experiences, I can't sympatize with you on the distance. Why? Because who else besides Welch is going to have a better commute to WV than you? I didn' t have time to drive from WV to Welch so maybe you want to do that and have some facts under your belt before you go to the board tonight.

What about WE's (horrible) commute. Get over it. Sushi, I know you are really struggling with the oppostion to this. I'm sorry you're having a hard time. But you just can't control everyone's thoughts and actions. And there are alot of people who simply disagree with you. I think you'd be happier if you could try to understand this and perhaps work on letting it go. Oh, and by the way, WE and TG are not the same neighborhood. They are not equidistant from NVHS and WVHS - no matter who hard you try to state that they are. Try to relax - there will be opposition - and it's coming from so many people, there's no way to stop it.

I think its fair to add 10 minutes to those commute times given the purchase of the tracks by CN.

And I'm trying to understand why you think you can frame the debate for us by making us pick what we want. Are you a SB member? If so, why don't you talk to some people taking a leadership position in my neighborhood? Are you offering some sort of change to us? I can't answer your question. I am not a leader in any way in my neighborhood. I won't be speaking tonight. I think what you all need to wrap your heads around is that it is not a few people who are upset. People here feel very, very wronged. Regardless of whether Sushi or anyone else feels they have a right to feel that way. They do.

I realized before we voted for the first ref. that WE would be moving somewhere. There are other more valid positions than TG's to be addressed. There are those of us who will do what's necessary for the good of the community as a whole. TG and WE are close enough to throw a rock; the commute won't be so different. I'm not saying it's perfect but somebody has to sacrifice for the greater good.

I know the train people have promised their trains will move fast through there when more are added on and I have to laugh at that. The worst trains are the ones that stop and then back up on the tracks and you are staring at them for hours while they unload or rehitch or whatever. What is up with that??? Perhaps the current WV folks can enlighten me on how many times busses have been stopped by the train on Ogden....

I think many people would sacrifice for the greater good if it was fair, logical, and the sacrifices were evenly distributed. I think without that, there will be opposition. And TG never realized they would be moving somewhere. In the original boundary proposals last time we were in NVHS for all but one. The rumor is that it changed because WE didn't want to go without us. Don't know if that' true or not, but judging by your reaction to TG opposing this, I'm thinking it might be true. You can't throw a rock from the northern part of WE to the southern part of TG - we are not the same neighborhood and we are not equidistant from the 2 schools. And you're wasting your time arguing with me. I'm just one person. Maybe you should get a megaphone and drive through TG telling everyone how to behave and what to think. Throw in some orders to "get over it." Good luck.

I don't even want to try your commute. I don't have to drive that to know it's going to be bad.....I admit, when I was driving to the Tall Grass area, it is a MUCH longer drive than they currently have. I do realize the impact that a super short drive now is going away. But again, that drive to BB was not that much different than the drive to WVHS will be. So, I have to keep agreeing with Sushi that yes, compared to what you have now, it sucks, but it isn't that much different than what you would have had to put up with at BB. That is where I find it hard to sympathize with you guys. Sorry about that, but Watts and Owen have it much worse. And let's throw the small 7 kids in at Petersen that have to drive up to Still. Many injustices...some worse than others.
