One way Later HS starts can work, for sports teams would be to have the last period or 2 be their Study Hall/PE. Just a thought. Agreed - that would help -- so why is that not part of the proposal , instead on pontificating on how sports runs schools and that is a bad thing ? It's amazing how much better a positive - well thought out message is than a negative directive.

I agree Doc, your humor throughout all this madness is appreciated. I admire your ability to do it given your situation. Thank you -- I am trying very hard to not just throw up my hands and give up. Continuing to work with various groups for what is right - but my humor is all I have left. My faith that things are being done for the good of ALL of 204, and as a result of well thought out plans....is gone. I do believe ( rightly or wrongly) that decisions are being made and then backup for them is created, as opposed to the other way around. I look at our situation every day and wonder how we ran off the tracks. ( and I say OUR because to all of those happy with recent proceedings, trust me your day is coming when you will be sitting there going, " how can they possibly do that " ? ) I was on the positive side of a lot of this at one time also- as were many here -- and unfortunately a few people tried to warn us about how some things were happening and we couldn't see the forest for the trees.

I am in complete agreement with you Doc and I am in the same situation. This last go around has frustrated me to the point of depression. Everyday I have to remind myself that this needs to be about the kids and their education, and that my 8th grader can not and will not have to endure these same feelings, although with all the publicity its tough avoiding and putting a positive spin on her questions. I also believe that this is not over, so there may still be hope for those on the same side of the fence as you doc.

You're kidding me right? But if you are serious, my kids read the papers, internet, and hear all their friends discussing it also. I cant control what they hear from others and so called professionals, ie Jim Lynch.

All I'm saying is that if you're kid is hearing negativity, it's from parents

My kids look at the paper and hear at school about what is going on. It was real fun for them when the paper gave Fry it's bad name. At least I have been able to teach my children to be very careful who they vote for, how these individuals can effect your life.
