That station looks pretty tame now, but in a few years when all those big, new houses need A/C, it will look just like the AME site. Don't forget the road ;D. Electric Junction pulls in feeds from Dresden, Plano, Niles, up to Lombard, etc. It has way more lines in it than the one in the south. Hence the name: Junction. It where a lot of utilities and transportation all came together: oil, gas, RR, roads, electricity, etc. There's more juice flowing through the EJ (eola) site as it's a major ComEd switching point for a lot of its infrastructure and many more HV lines running to/from it.

So, as the villages and towns in the south grow, don't you think that there is the potential for that station to become a junction for other areas?
Hey, can you help me out with the pipeline info, pleeeease? I promise I won't poke fun at you anymore. I think you've had enough.

If everyone else jumped off a bridge.... If an individual chooses to LIVE near them, that's their choice. An administration choosing to build a school near them and choosing to send people's kids who would never choose to live near them is a different things entirely. Arch, do we agree that BB is dead and buried? If so, where should we build our new HS? From the map it appears that the pipeline runs under various commercial and residential areas. I doubt anyone knows they are even living over them. Of course it would be better if they weren't there, but it seems to be the way we live; with power lines, gas lines, cables - everywhere. What is the alternative? Well, w/ the looming certainty of a HS not being there and retail loosing its luster at that location (no HS to leach customers from) some might give something more consideration this time around. One thing is for certain, whomever talked with them before should NOT talk with them again. I would imagine some egos got in the way in the past. With someone not like that (and less arrogant), they should be approached again. Who actually tried to approach them and how did they try? Was it the same person that previously told them we'll see them in court?

Obviously, you must love my jokes ;D. Well then, a-hunting I must go. No, I find them annoyingly immature and like in the past it seems that your sole purpose is to not offer anything productive but instead to lob juvenile taunts at people. So, I'm basically going to ignore you now.

Newbie, I think the SB has heard it all, over and over. I certainly have from the few posters on this board. Imagine this board times 3000? I did get a response today from Alka, and one Tuesday from Bruce Glawe. Sushi, how do you get them to respond? Is it because you support them 100% and are very vocal about it? I don't mean this in a negative way, I am just curious. Why respond to you and no response to all the others that just don't agree with them? I am sure they have a ton of messages, but they wanted this job, so in my mind they need to respond in some fashion.....They are the ones that really look bad right now....they have lost credibility and the respect of the people and I honestly don't think they can win any of it back anytime soon.

I would tell you that I share your concern. I have gotten consistent replies from Curt Bradshaw when I e-mail him. And some frequent replies from one or two others. But there are a couple that I just don't hear back from. If nothing else, I think it would be a good idea for them to hold Saturday morning coffees or whatever they did during the last referendum so it's not a matter of communicating back and forth via e-mail.

I sent an email to all board members and Dr. D. on Wednesday discussing some of the concerns and why I thought it might be helpful to address them in some manner. I got a generic "thanks for your input" response the same day from Alka. Curt responded today with specific remarks about my input. I was brief, courteous and didn't rake them over the coals. I pointed out where immediate public comment or more information could diffuse some of the tension. I guess it worked somewhat - got 1 real response.

I think the coffees would have worked before the boundary decisions, as a means to prepare the affected areas before the hammer fell so that they could brace themselves for it. Unfortunately, that time has passed, and here we are.

I guess it all depends on how you write to them. I have written with disagreements to the SB and have always gotten a response from at least 1.

The park district was willing, able and ready to swap acreage on the Macom site at 248 and 95th. In fact, from what I know, they were ready, willing and excited for the land swap. So, why didn't Macom have a proposed land swap in writing from the park district when it approached the SB? Whose responsibility is it to make the land swap, Macom's or the SD's? I just feel that the park district is pointing a finger at the school board who is pointing a finger at the park district.

Rural, are you joking with this post? Do you know the history? Seriously, it's kinda funny. I have nothing to say to you. Look into the history of what's happeneded to date in terms of the third high school. At that point (when you've read up on stuff), you can assume and point fingers all you want. I'm sure you wont though as you seem pretty content with the boundary/site decision. Hey, congratulations dude! I'm glad someone is happy and can turn a blind eye at what's occured in the district. You are doing a great job at spinning stuff the way you'd like to believe it. Good job! Except don't you want to know the real deal? Maybe not. Dude, I am quite the joker. Ask Arch, he loves my stuff. ;D You still did not answer the question of what land was going to be swapped with the park district.
