You know, I try to be nice on these boards, but you piss me off. Do you have any kids at WV? I live in your neighborhood - I would guess not. 1st of all - who are you to suggest that I'm trying to "protect" my high schooler from anything? One of the reasons I love WV is because it's a lot more like the "real world" than NV. However, no 16 year old needs to have to deal with hysterical teachers because of bad decisions made by our illustrious admin and SB. That's not the real world - that's BS. Yes, I do think it was detrimental. I think any parent who cares about their child would think it was detrimental for them to have to deal with what they had to deal with on Friday. I'm "hung up" on the # of layoffs because it is a continuation of a pattern set forth 12 years ago, that WV is not as important as our other HS. Wake up and smell the coffee - your little diatribes are growing more annoying by the day... you said you are upset about your "child" having to deal with the events on friday. why else would you care other than to protect your child. tell me something. how is the WV more like the real world vs. NV? And then please tell me how it was detrimental to your high school student? exactly how. what are the long term and short term affects? lastly, you do not try to be nice on this board or green....actually you are quite nasty IMO Steckdad, you sound like, to borrow MM's words, the biggest ****** ****** ever. You are nasty and belittling to all. I will wait to calm down before I write the rest of my response to you. I do not see that worriordiva has ever been "quite nasty". You must be getting quite defensive or something. FWIW, if you can't see how Waubonsie has been screwed then there's no reason to even try to explain it to you. It's obviously too difficult for your comprehension. |

Not this time...not this time attempts to marginalize are nothing new here-- whether it be SB candidates - current memebrs - now past but then current PTSA leaders - etc....many contributors here have included even past SB members - many former PTSA officers.. of course there are never any facts to the marginalization - but what I like to call 'nyah nyah' tactics. This time the economy will help spread the word as to what has been done here to make the situation even worse than it had to be..if this was performance for managers in the private sector, at best many of these people would be fired, at worst there'd be some serious investigations. |

Thank you all for coming to my defense. I just want to say a couple of things then a certain jerk on this board will be invisible to me forever...
-I have never posted anything on the green board. I think I have looked at it maybe 2 or 3 times total. I don't agree with what they say so I just stay away.
-SD if you can't answer my simple question (do you have kids at WV?) then don't act like you know anything about WV. Talking trash to me will get you nowhere.
-If you want to take my comments as "nasty" then you ought to go back and read some of your own. I need not justify to you why I feel that anything was detrimental to my kid. In fact, I feel quite sorry for yours if you feel that what my child experienced at WV last week was acceptable to ANYONE.
I'm now done - you are invisible to me and hopefully soon you will be invisible to everyone else...

It was not a fun day for them either. The kids aren't insensitive robots. SD. Believe it or not SD, they have feelings for their school and their teachers and their sports and their music. Are you callous? Maybe you have your own personal issues to deal with?

Maybe you have your own personal issues to deal with? don't you know- people like SD and our SB and admin state all the time about how the kids jsut adjust to everything -- moving schools- being separated from siblings, anything they are told - new friends-- nothing fazes them you know. Amazing that these people are supposed to be about what's best for the kids -- look at how 203 handled boundaries and look at the callous group here. Amazing isn't it? now they can get used to 35 kids in a class- pissed off teachers - likely not being able to get some classes - maybe their sports team is not there any more - or activity.. I feel so bad for them |

WV is being gutted in favor of MV. Certain members and former members of the SB planned this whole senerio. The current economy and school funding situation is just convience for the to explain the problem. MM doesn't and never did care about the kids; just his own legecy. And he is not alone on the SB. |

My comment was meant to imply that we don't know for sure that SteckDad is a male (but possibly a female). It was never meant to imply that SteckDad was one in the same as SteckMom. Those of you that remember SteckParent or SteckMom know that they don't always share the same venomous ideas as SteckDad. I hope I didn't confuse anyone. FWIW, I find it interesting that SteckDad comes on board criticizes, belittles, and angers so many and then disappears and never answers to anything. |

This is a set up. I'll explain: 1) According to M2-the only thing certain is that 145 teachers will be laid off. The rest is just a thought. 2) 19 administrators??? BS call it what it is - 5.5 administrators and 13.5 office staff positions. 3) Increasing fees - another "tax" to the taxpayers. 4) If DD is sick to her stomach now, one can only imagine how she would handle Springfield:) 5) CP hoping for a "Miracle"  Where has she been all this time. This did not happen overnight. Where is the thought of consolidation of half empty elementary schools?? I'm sure their PR firm is really playing off about the teacher layoffs and increase class sizes. You really think they would come up with a new scare tactic but no....just the same old story we have heard so many times before. What a joke. Been reading this board for a while, trying to stay away from commenting but couldn't resist a comment after reading this post.... Blankcheck... BINGO! |

What I find equally if not more pathetic is that based on these events, the Budget meeting before the public on March 22nd may be a complete farce. Has the administration already determined what they are doing to reduce costs and acting on it before involving the board and public in any way? We are surrounded by districts that have made these tough decisions as a community, seeking input, and changing course based on direction offered from the community, prioritizing as a community what was effected. Is District 204 so closed that the administration barrels forward making irreversible decisions, acts on what they want to do consulting no one, and then has a pathetic, pointless, presentation or a powerpoint to recap what they did?!? Are these decisions being made unilaterally by the gym lady? Oh wait, I forgot, that is how we got Metea. These are sad days in our district, truly sad. I now have no pride in our district remaining whatsoever.
